Congrats, you found the only thread at TOS that I didn't participate in.
I liked that thread. It's one of those "Eventually the future happens, and then you know" type of threads.

Everyone backing KO was pretty funny. They backed him for about ten or fourteen more days.

As for Tony Bennett, I heard he's still coaching college hoops in some unheard of backwater...

I loudly and proudly defended KO . . . until it was time not to defend KO.

That whole thing however many weeks ago with Rocky was what got me thinking about that old thread.

I liked Tony. The facts liked Tony, too. So it was pretty easy to get behind him vis-a-vis KO, even back then.

Same. Was surprised to find how different he was from Lute.

First take in thread sounds like Sean Miller critics:
He refuses to change up his offense or defense. He is too predictable. Strictly man to man(ok against Oregon), will give you no chance to beat UCLA. His only offensive play is the double screen @ the top of the key, was easily defended by Oregon. His man-to-man defense allowed Oregon to shot 60% in the first half. He is an average coach & will lead Az to be a average team in the Pac 10(see his records with prior teams). His novelty has worn off. Please consider someone else.
Right where I want to be.

I love the tweet from Stanley.
“The reality is that the hardest games to win are over teams on their home court. Teams that don’t play those games can spin it however they want, but what they’re saying is, ‘We don’t want to lose in our non conference season.’" - Sean Miller

I thought a really interesting moment last night late in the game was when TJ just randomly, with 30sec on the shotclock, from probably 3ft behind the arc, after being cold all game long, heaved up that three and drained it. As soon as he shot it I uttered 'What the f@ck?'

Then as he is back on D getting ready for Davis to come down he does the sign of the cross on his chest and makes a small gesture to something above as if to say, 'appreciate that help, needed it'.

Was awesome. Anyone else catch it?

McConnell said he isn’t worried about personal statistics or accolades. But so far, he has been one of the stars of the NCAA Tournament, in two games scoring 31 points on 21 field-goal attempts, with 10 assists and just four turnovers, 10 rebounds and nine steals.
Stats dont lie when it comes to TJ - And thats just 1/2 of the story of his game.

Yea that 3 pointer he hit was the freakin dagger of the game.

The first time I had the "we got this" feeling was when TJ knocked that three down. The rest of the night we spent a lot of time reacting, but that was when we started attacking and taking what we wanted.

Another great article about TJ McConnell from the NY Times. The guy is getting the deserved accolades now. He keeps it up and he may find himself on an NBA team, especially with the whole country watching.

TJ just said he apologized to Sean for not getting him his first Final 4.

You have nothing to apologize for TJ. We'd be nowhere the past 2 years without you. One of my all time fav Cats.

Would be nice for us to experience some joy on the big stage again though. These E8 losses are the worst. Fuck.

Great article.

It says it all about T.J....always giving props to other players like PJC.

I fully expect him to someday be sitting next to CSM.

McConnell's next task is to find a place to play basketball, somewhere, for as long as he can. And then there is almost no doubt that he will be Coach McConnell.

"Absolutely," he said. "And hopefully, I'll be with coach Miller, that's for sure."

Hope we get to see you again TJ. Love this kid.

Every year he stays in college is another year his family has to do without. Every game he plays before he goes pro is just another chance to have a career ending injury and POOF... there goes the $$$. Brandon Ashley last year had to hit close to home for him. Not to mention Isaiah Austin, anyone???

He's a first round lock. He has people he needs to take care of. He'll develop just as well (if not better) in the NBA. Barring injury he's a 10+ year pro.

To second guess his decision from where we sit as fans is ridiculous.
i wonder and worry about Brandon's situation. Seems his mom might have health issue's. Saw her at Staples up close outside restrooms and she was in an electric wheel chair.

He and his teammates left it all on the floor. His raw emotion and tenacious effort earned my respect from day 1. He deserved better than what happened yesterday. These last two years were way to short and he will always be one of my favorite players.
