I havent seen one with him outside the 6-9 range. Well it was a minor hope.
Re: Stanley Johnson
We basically have to hope that there's more to it than just that. But it seems like, if it was just that, the call would've been made long ago so I think it's generally safe to assume at this point there's more to it than that.Gilbertcat wrote:I havent seen one with him outside the 6-9 range. Re: Stanley Johnson
Everything I've seen has listed him as a top 8 pick for months. So it seems to weird to wait a couple weeks after the season just to see if you'll be top 10.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

Or the team and recruits. Only have 13 scholarships, so when you are looking at grad transfers and such, it's obviously better to know sooner than later.FightWildcatsFight wrote: I saw that too. Why these kids don't just openly address the fans about their intentions, I have no idea.

Re: Stanley Johnson
Because fans are too intense to wait for an announcement, so players might be thinking a tweet will be misinterpreted. Actually, saying LESS on twitter is a lesson most people could use.FightWildcatsFight wrote:I saw that too. Re: Stanley Johnson
I find a certain amout of irony in the realization that the traits that are most needed to succeed in the pros (maturity, desire to improve daily) are often best found in those who have the maturity to consider the alternative to rushing into the professional ranks.
Stan likely goes. But he shows some sense of the bigger picture in considering the alternative. The "risk" of returning is so overstated and can be mitigated. The odds of it being anything other than a neutral - at - worst decision are pretty small. Meanwhile, you have to consider the real life change in becoming a millionaire professional at 19 in a competitive profession where you are competing with people older, more experienced, and often threatened by you. And of course there are also the changes in how friends and family treat you, and the revelation of the motives of people you trusted and loved. You have to become a man, and not in the macho "tough guy" sense, but in the emotional sense. And 19 is awful early...most people who are faced with being in that position at such a young age didn't choose it, but rather it happened to them. And their situation is often relentlessly difficult, where Stans is a blessing really either way he chooses. Deciding to delay that reality, and with some real development positives, is not that unreasonable a decision...but many treat it as such, as if maximum dollars are the only acceptable motivation in life.
I assume he goes. But his obvious consideration of the options show a self awareness that is positioned humorously...by trying to delay required maturity, you show maturity. Or maybe he just likes a girl. I have no idea....

I doubt Dorian Page had anything to do with it. I sat next to him in high school. He was a quite, polite and respectable person.
