It's a lightweight suit. Seersucker, poplin, linen, and tropical weight cotton are popular types. As opposed to wool.Spaceman Spiff wrote:What's a summer weight suit?

I still have a few of those in the back of my closet. Actually, my favorite tie when I was 30 yrs younger. I wear ties only at weddings and funerals now and imagine would be laughed out of the place wearing one of those.Reydituto wrote:

PGU reporting Johnson gone to NBA draft (for what that's worth...)

They didn't steal that from Scout. And they're not journalists, so they aren't breaking a story. What does that leave? Yep. Guessing at something everybody already knows.cpt wrote:PGU reporting Johnson gone to NBA draft (for what that's worth...)

Would be disappointing if Lee went to Louisville and sj declared.

Right where I want to be.
Re: Stanley Johnson
This is common, even from the more "respectable" premiums. When you have a topic that has generated the interest that this one has, you have to have an online presence in the story. So, here a couple of days away, when you clearly have a conflicted kid, recall that conversation you had with Stanley;Longhorned wrote:They didn't steal that from Scout. And they're not journalists, so they aren't breaking a story. What does that leave? Yep. 's uncle's friend who said in February "He's gone. To the League baby" and use that as an unnamed source to bypass all the clear angst the kid has now about whether to stay. Call it done, get the hits, and in the 15% chance you are wrong and he stays, you just say "as of the day we reported this, Johnson had made up his mind to file for early entry. Now we are hearing there was an 11th hour attempt to persuade Johnson to stay by a close confidant and Stanley may be staying." Otherwise, your "he is going" story scoops, you always leave open the possibility of a mind change but throw in some language about how Stanley's mom is "en route to Staples to buy a special pen for Stanley to use to sign his early entry", a tid bit that no one would know, so the assumption is they are connected.
If they are right? Well...it wasn't that hard of a call. Kudos for slow playing it the right amount of time to a final "he's going" story.
If they are wrong? The kid is 18. He isn't mature. He had said one thing but is now doing another. College will be good for his growth.
This is literally how premium or news breakers like PGU have worked from day one. I am no super connected person, but I am fortunate, sometimes, to be in the know from a degree away. I have some friends very close to the situation. And I am hardly unique on these boards...there are a lot of well-connected fans who enjoy blabbing from anonymous monikers. Most of these boards have the real truth when it is real, often exactly when it becomes real. You can read between the lines, or just read some independent board's straight posts from certain people and have all premium offers.

That sounds exhausting. Think I'll just wait and endure the "Gumby still doesn't know!" taunts.

It's always been a long shot that he returns.
I hope he either represents us well in the NBA or returns. Which one of those is his choice, and people like me just get to wait and see.

I was buying tart cherry juice at Trader Joe's and ran into the guy who sells Stanley dental floss. He told me what Stanley has decided, but asked me not to reveal it based on dental hygenist confidentiality, and that is a sacred privilege.gumby wrote:I'm carefully positioning myself so that whatever happens, I can say, "Of course."

I think the best possible way for Stanley to announce his return, would be to not announce his return.
Just let the deadline roll by and act like nothing was supposed to happen.

Re: Stanley Johnson
I have been thinking the same thing. Maybe there will be no announcement, he will finish out the semester and show up ready to go next year. I am not sure why you would have to announce you are coming back. Assume everyone will be here next year until you hear otherwise.FightWildcatsFight wrote:I think the best possible way for Stanley to announce his return, would be to not announce his return.

Re: Stanley Johnson
I agree with PGU that he is heading to the NBA. The big question is will he be in the draft this year or next year.
Re: Stanley Johnson
As the son of a dentist, I can vouch for this. They call it the Colgate oath, and Stanley knows that his words are 100% safe in the hands of this gingivitis fighting salesmanSpaceman Spiff wrote:I was buying tart cherry juice at Trader Joe's and ran into the guy who sells Stanley dental floss. Well it was fun while it lasted. Good luck to him. I think AZ will still be a top tier team next year. May have a few more L's but hopefully less rushing of the court. And who knows, with lower expectations and the right bracket, it could break our way.

Gonna be driving at 5, any way to listen to the stream without having to pull up the video feed?
