2015 NBA Draft
AZ likely losing four players:
SJ
RHJ
BA
KT
We'll have to see how the tourney plays out, of course, but some of our resident insiders have maintained that the above four are gonzo.
Elsewhere in the Pac, these guys are either graduating or rumored to be leaving early:
Joseph Young
Delon Wright
Jakob Poeltl
Norman Powell
Kevon Looney
GPIII
Robert Upshaw
Shawn Kemp Jr.
Davonte Lacy
Tyrone Wallace
David Kravish
Jabari Bird
Anthony Brown
Chasson Randle
Josh Scott
Askia Booker
As we know, a team's prospects are greatly impacted by draft decisions. Which team will be hurt the most? Which will come out alright?
SJ
RHJ

Right. I didn't include TJ and Matt because I assume most here know they've exhausted their eligibility.UAEebs86 wrote:Arizona losing TJ McConnell (and Korcheck)Beachcat97 wrote:AZ likely losing four players:

I've seen multiple mocks with D'Angelo Russell going ahead of Stanley. Not sure what these GMs are seeing that I'm not.

Wow. I've watched DR a few times and haven't seen that kind of potential.rgdeuce wrote:James HardenBeachcat97 wrote:I've seen multiple mocks with D'Angelo Russell going ahead of Stanley. Not sure what these GMs are seeing that I'm not.

Re: 2015 NBA Draft
Russell is a SG who can handle the ball, has good vision and can shoot.
Im still up in the air about Stanley. I think he will benefit from the added spacing in the NBA, allowing him to power his way through contact. The problem is that there is even more size at the rim and he already struggles to finish.
That said, his pull up game is good already and should a major weapon in the NBA, especially when he adds consistency to his 3pt jumper. Hes a good rebounder who has the size to make that translate to the next level as well. All in all, I see him as a solid/good NBA player. He needs to continue to draw contact and get to the line to offset his disappointing finishing this year.
Winslow looks far and away the top SF, IMO. Hes more advanced defensively and his offensive game is coming around already. If he puts it all together like he did last weekend, he is going to be a star.

I'd like to point out that this thread was started hours BEFORE our Wiscy game. I guess once UCLA is out, the season is over for you eh? That is fucking sad.

If the Celtics are able to move up tomorrow night, they will have all kinds of ammunition to deal for a perimeter scoring threat to further sway Love.

Re: 2015 NBA Draft
Like that deal for Charlotte. Batum and MKG is nasty on the wing. I like the fit for Batum and then this opens the possibility for them taking someone like Turner or Kaminsky and even trading out for another veteran.
Pretty good buy low on Vonleh too.

Sounds like Spurs or Lakers. Spurs would have to lose Green and Splitter to make the money work.Main Event wrote:He's gonna go to the Spurs

Re: 2015 NBA Draft
Hinkie is a smart guy. He knnows he needs a star to win anything. He keeps taking BPA in every draft, Okafor was definitely that guy.
The only question is if the Celtics off a big package for him, including Marcus Smart and a few 1sts.

Great fit for Stanley. Good system, awesome coach, rim protector, floor spacing and a primary shot creator. He'll get minutes, develop as a defender and fits very well with his attack ability in that offense.

Gets to play with ex-Wildcat Brandon Jennings.TucsonClip wrote:Great fit for Stanley. Good system, awesome coach, rim protector, floor spacing and a primary shot creator. He'll get minutes, develop as a defender and fits very well with his attack ability in that offense.
Winslow is falling hard. He won't get past Miami, though.
I can't agree with the Sixers. Unless they have something in place, there are other good players. Draft Mudiay and they're still stacked. They have to pray for a good offer now.

I dont pass on Okafor for Mudiay. Plus, the trade market isnt very high for Mudiay. It will be for Okafor if they want to move him.Spaceman Spiff wrote:Gets to play with ex-Wildcat Brandon Jennings.TucsonClip wrote:Great fit for Stanley. They have to move one of those 3 (Okafor, Noel, Embiid). When teams box themselves into having to make a trade...bad things happen.TucsonClip wrote:I dont pass on Okafor for Mudiay. They have years to move one of those guys. They need a star, take the BPA figure the rest out later.Spaceman Spiff wrote:They have to move one of those 3 (Okafor, Noel, Embiid). The perpetual tank gets old. Hinkle is keeping his job because they aren't trying to win and he can claim potential, but this needs to come together sometime or another.TucsonClip wrote:They have years to move one of those guys. Who were they supposed to pick instead of Noel or Embiid? Why pass on Okafor? Who were they supposed to sign? Pay MCW next summer?Spaceman Spiff wrote: The perpetual tank gets old. Hinkie is doing it right, even if plenty of people complain. You need a star to win in the NBA. Thats what hes hunting for. I dont fault him at all.

Rozier and Vaughn back to back are unusual.

Both those guys went really high. I'm surprised that they didn't go with Hunter or Wright. Toronto is a good landing spot for Wright.

Collecting assets and pieces that fit Stevens' system. Hes banking on selling high on them with the draft picks to supplement a trade for a star.rgdeuce wrote:Clip, help me figure out exactly what Ainge is doing? Dislike the fit for Rondae.
If they lose LMA, he's going to be asked to do too much. Needs to be on a playoff team where he can play a role and grow overall. Literally any other team in the 20s could have been a good fit.
