Legitimately college staffs should be made up of the head man, an associate that is fully familiar with the coach's system and is his go to guy for any Xs and Os or talent evaluating that the head man may lack, and two recruiting assistants. So with that said Arizona needs to move on from Pasternack and pull a guy like Justin Hutson or another guy with strong west coast AAU connections (like David Grace).

Miller’s 2014 class eventually included Stanley Johnson, Dusan Ristic, Kadeem Allen and Craig Victor — so much talent that Victor wound up transferring and Allen redshirted last season.

Arizona also had zero players lined up entering August 2013, before Elliott Pitts, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Aaron Gordon later pledged.

6/4 SG(looks very 2/1 combo). Blew up at Peach Jam and Vegas.

Ranked 4 star, but looks 5. Very quick and deceptive. Fast downcourt. Big play over rim. Okay shooting mechanics, but very quick release.

We've offered and he's shown as an August 10 visitor?

There was a football player a few years back that had a horrible visit. Hated everything as soon as he stepped on campus. Maybe someone remembers his name.

I know I should shut up about Ferguson because Kansas might own him, but the guy is mentioning Coach Miller a lot. And for good reason.

So I won't shut up yet. Ferguson has size for the two, is an excellent perimeter shooter, explodes downcourt on breaks, and has extraordinary quicks. Best of all----I haven't got it all out yet----D is actually the most notable part of his game. A CSM dream who is versatile to 2 maybe 3 positions and loves D. I believe he'll end up as an undersized 3 because he's already demo'd his ability to score over taller players.

And how often do we run into a guy half the country is chasing who says "I would really love to play college ball for Sean Miller". That's genuine Bear Down stuff, huh?

Rabb & Brown to Cal and now Fultz to UW. I have no idea what is going on anymore in recruiting. All I know is that whatever Miller is doing now isn't working apparently.

Truthfully it didn't help his predecessor on the recruiting trail either. The only guy making a killing off the U18/U19 teams is Coach Ratface.

Combo guard. Either way I'm a huge fan of playing two guards who can run the offense at the same time. Sure worked great for Illinois in 2005.

It seems like it was a bad idea now, but maybe the staff shakeup hurt more. Whatever the reasons, it looks like 2016 is going to be a slim year for us.

That is a question for Miller, who seemed to recruit Fultz pretty hard. Most places I have seen classified him as an SG, anyway.

Miller has spoiled us the last few years, no doubt, That said, it is tough to ignore that 2/4 of 97Cats projected class is gone, and 1/4 is pretty much out (Cage). Jackson is still in play but highly contested.

I have been unwavering in my support for Miller since he arrived in Tucson, and hold him in higher regard that any (Yes - ANY) coach we have had at UA. Hopefully we either finish like American Pharaoh, or this turns out to be a 1-year aberration,

But in the spirit of 'keeping it real', if I was a fan of an opposing program - I would say the precipitous drop-off in recruiting we appear to be facing is reminiscent of Ben Howland's tenure at UCLA.

We lost one coach and he wasn't the primary recruiter on any of the major targets we've missed on so far.

Fultz to UW....really

I do think the last thing this class needs was a Combo guard as we have like 14 of those on the roster right now

We did need big man and that's why I am way more upset about losing Leaf.

I guess I just can not believe Romar got this kid when I thought Romar was sure to be fired soon..over Louisville and Kentucky too...wow color me surprised

For a guy to choose UW over Arizona regardless of our guard situation seems crazy.

This all being said, I still 100% trust miller when it comes to recruiting and will withhold judgement until our full 2016 class is signed in the spring. But can't say I am not a little nervous about this class and feel like his second recruiting class when everyone basically said no to us.

You are what you can defend, which means Josh Jackson is a 2, 3, and 4. Either way there's virtually no difference between the role of a 2 and a 3 on the collegiate level and Sean Miller's system. Hell im not sure there's one on the professional level either. Honestly there's only two positions that players at the collegiate level should be shoehorned into and that's pure point guards and centers. Wings and especially tall ones can play numerous roles on teams. Josh Jackson and Jayson Tatum were predominantly 4 men on Miller's USA team for instance.

So, with TJ gone and Fultz to UW - what is our class gonna look like?

Jackson is the #1 target still. Seems like Andrew Jones could be big for us and the Finnish big man? Do we any possibility with any other high ranked guys at all?

Over thing that feels really odd to me is why this class would struggle. We are coming off two elite 8's with +30 win seasons and just finished making the basketball facilities at Mckale look better then most NBA teams. I mean our locker room, lounge, video room look crazy.

Something is up because what the hell did Romar have to sell??? Come to UW to suck like we have the past couple of years really forever.

I trust miller when it comes to recruiting but clearly we wanted this kid and he choose UW and he is not from Seattle but Maryland. Is he taking money, what was a serious question too. That's three misses in a row between Rabb, leaf, and fultz.

Newport, you just noted that we have 14 combo guards on the roster. Maybe Fultz wasn't so sure about playing time? Or maybe he just really liked Romar and UW. It's an incredible campus if you catch good weather during a summer visit.

Fultz has become a one and done talent, so it's not about playing time. Also UW has plenty of guards now too. He just loved him some Romar, just like Ivan Rabb loved him some Cuonzo. If you look at Romar's 2015 class he sure has pulled a rabbit out of his hat (or ass) and has recovered. Hell if Romar can do it why can't Miller?

Because Fultz seemed to venture into One And Done land and we're stacked at the position, I'm not that concerned about this one. Mostly it's an issue of making UW tougher to beat, but we keep saying we want the conference to get stronger. Well, with Cal, UW and Utah stepping up, here it comes.

We have two five-stars on the perimeter, along with PJC, Allen, Simon and Pitts. Only York departs for sure. I can see where a recruit would think that's crwoded.

UW, by comparison, is thin at guard. Massive PT guaranteed. And that's important if college is just a nine-month stopover.

We could completely whiff on guards, and still have plenty. I'm more interested in the Big Finn or others like that.
