2015 Bear Down Wildcats Predict The Score Challenge Week 1

Rules:

1) You start at 0 points; for each point your prediction is off from the actual final score you receive one point.
2) The person with the lowest points wins for the week and receives a -5 point bonus.
3) You will receive a -5 point bonus for each team's score that you correctly predict.
4) The person with the worst prediction each week will receive a 5 point penalty because you really suck.
5) You will receive a 5 point penalty for predicting the incorrect winning team.
6) You can make as many changes to your prediction as you'd like until kickoff.
7) If you fail to post a prediction you will earn points equal to the worst prediction plus 10 points.
8) If you miss a prediction for 3 or more games (25% of the season), you won't be tracked in the results.
9) You don't have to be a Wildcat fan to play, everyone is welcome.
10) Please make your picks for week 1 in this thread.

Score is 45-6 when USTA scores on the last play of the game against the cheerleaders and water boys for a final 45-13. The 2nd and 3rd string get in early in this game which prevents the UA scoring more.

If utsa holds us to 21 points at home...then that means we must've had major injuries early in the game. In 21 home games under RR we've averaged 39 points per game. 43.6 a game in home ooc games. Something very wrong will happen if we score less than half our home ooc average with the best offense we've had in the last couple years.

I'm wondering how? Vegas' early line has the score predicted (yes for betting purposes, but still they're quite often fairly close) at about 42-10 with a Cat's victory. How is that so far off 45-13? Or are you just taking umbrage with the last second touchdown prediction?

Suggestion for you if you happen to be making the trip for this fine matchup? I would arrive super early in order to park very close to the stadium. No amount of alcohol will subdue the absolute disgust you will get to see first hand, as our beloved Cats are dishing out a world class ass beating at your expense.

The close proximity to your parking space will help ease your pain a bit when you bail at halftime.

I will guarantee that you will see things that you have only read about in books.....again, hope you can attend!

Nicely put. I don't think the beatdown will be that prolific because RR will get the 2nd and 3rd stringers in after we are up by 3/4 TD's and UTSA has shown they can't get out of their own way. He will also have VERY vanillas offenses and defenses in there so as not to give the P12 competition any tape to study.

I don't understand this "we'll pull our starters" mantra. I don't know how many times in the last 2 seasons I was screaming at the TV for RR to pull some starters and he just left them in until the final few minutes.

Coach Rod has been pretty honest about this saying he tends to leave his starters in too long, because he usually doesn't think the game is won until it is mathematically impossible for the other team to come back. I'm hoping the "no bye week" season will force him to play more bodies and pull the starters earlier. It is easier for everyone to recover and be ready for the next week when you have taken less of a beating.

Your score prediction is fine. My comment was directed at your expectation that 2nd and 3rd string guys will be playing. (And the cheerleaders and water boys.) I feel that the score will be unexpectedly close and it would not be a safe call to have the water boys playing.
