Obvious travel. Can we play Ristic and Zeus and have Anderson take a seat?

Surprised Miller didn't take off the jacket earlier.

I dont question CSM much.....but why was Simon in the game????
Re: Game 16, at USC (2015-2016)
Hard to get too mad at Gabe when he kept us in it and didn't get a break since I don't know when.

This team turns the ball over so goddamn much. Allen is wild, and PJC makes terrible passes.

was not a foul on Simon. absolute BS bail out call!!!
Re: Game 16, at USC (2015-2016)
Yeah agreed. Kadeem gassed out early and PJC just isn't good enough to get big minutes.AZCatGirl wrote:Hard to get too mad at Gabe when he kept us in it and didn't get a break since I don't know when.
Re: Game 16, at USC (2015-2016)
Actually, I'm asking why we didn't see more of him sooner in place of PJC and Tolly...both of whom were horribly abused on the defensive end and put out very little on the offensive endbillk78 wrote:I dont question CSM much.....but why was Simon in the game????

I thought he clearly hit the shooters arm.Beardown33 wrote:was not a foul on Simon. absolute BS bail out call!!!

Both awful. And Anderson gets tired after 1 quarter nowadays.dmjcat wrote:Actually, I'm asking why we didn't see more of him sooner in place of PJC and Tolly...both of whom were horribly abused on the defensive end and put out very little on the offensive endbillk78 wrote:I dont question CSM much.....but why was Simon in the game????

We had 3 more fouls than usc, but shot 17 fewer free throws.

It appears to me that Andersons ankle problems are chronic.........his vertical looked like 2mm in this game.

Re: Game 16, at USC (2015-2016)
In the replay I watched, Simon went straight up. If anything, slight body contact. BS call!!!dmjcat wrote:Beardown33 wrote:was not a foul on Simon. absolute BS bail out call!!!

Re: Game 16, at USC (2015-2016)
IMO blaming the refs is a copout. Some games the ref lose for us. This was not one of them. Although I thought there was a travel that wasn't called. We missed key free throws. Had gaping holes in the defense at times. And we just lack a playmaker that we can go to in the clutch. I was waiting for York to take over this game and it just didn't happen.

Re: Game 16, at USC (2015-2016)
A sweet 16 team at best. We are not good enough defensively. And we have rotation players who are showing they just aren't at an elite level, especially some seniors (not including Zeus). Disappointing.

This weekend doesn't help SoCal recruiting!
Re: Game 16, at USC (2015-2016)
I suggest you watch the replay in a few hours after your blood pressure has dropped. Simon was definitely NOT vertical and definitely hit him on the shooting arm. I certainly don't hold Simon responsible for the loss. Had he gotten more minutes in the past 10-12 games he might have played more under control today.Beardown33 wrote:In the replay I watched, Simon went straight up. If anything, slight body contact. Refs weren't the reason Arizona lost. Dumb, slow defense was.
We drop out of the Top 20 now.

Agree 100%. Cats had every chance to put this away as a W, and didn't.billk78 wrote:IMO blaming the refs is a copout.

Last time UA lost both in LA they ended up a Sweet 16 team. We should be happy with that with this defense.

Re: Game 16, at USC (2015-2016)
No it doesn't. Alford appears to be circling the wagons in LA and Cal is drawing a fence around the bay area. The same thing happened when Howland showed up at UCLA. Lute turned to recruiting foreigners (don't look now but thats what Miller is starting to do) and we ended up with Radenovic and Daniel Dillon. Millers going to have to successfully recalibrate his recruiting scheme to keep the UA in the upper echelons of College basketball.3goggles wrote:This weekend doesn't help SoCal recruiting!
Re: Game 16, at USC (2015-2016)
Totally agree. We were seriously over-rated going into this road trip and were exposed. Miller has some serious holes in his lineup (PJC/Tolly) and another starter (Anderson) that appears to be having physical issues that are not getting better. I would like to see more Simon.catgrad97 wrote:Refs weren't the reason Arizona lost. Dumb, slow defense was.

Re: Game 16, at USC (2015-2016)
I was glad he came in when he did because everyone was gassed and he has the height, until he made that boneheaded foul. Like somebody else said though, if he had played more before this game maybe he would have went up vertically instead of making that very bad mistake.dmjcat wrote:Actually, I'm asking why we didn't see more of him sooner in place of PJC and Tolly...both of whom were horribly abused on the defensive end and put out very little on the offensive endbillk78 wrote:I dont question CSM much.....but why was Simon in the game????

Re: Game 16, at USC (2015-2016)
Seniors make that mistake too. I would rather have Simon out there with all his upside than PJC with no upside.
