I'll give our guys a lot of credit for not surrendering the lead. In the first half it was too easy. The real USC showed up after halftime, but we beared down and got the job done. At this point I'll take a win any way we can get it.

This was the game we have been wondering about...what happens if we have everyone back, and we play stretches of good defense? What is our peak ability when everyone is engaged and we are playing aware defense. You know you have the post offense. You know Trier can get to the hole when he needs to and also shoot the J. You now can believe PJC will hit a reasonable amount of open and sightly contested 3s if they are from inside out or off a skip, not off the dribble.
We had issues...every team will, unless they play the perfect game. We lost sight of what got us there in the 1st half. We got a little Gabe hero ball. The outside shots weren't clean off transition or from being washed through the post...some were dirty, overdribbled shots and USC took advantage.
But PJC shows a real corner turned shooting. Not just one game proof like we have gotten in the last...legit sample size. Tolly had his best game of the year, and it came on the heals of him contributing well on Friday. Zo looks ohh-kay. We were aggressive on the boards against an aggressive team. We have some attitude again. Zeus has added a not-so-nice-guy strength to the mix ups
We played pockets of good defense. We took what we were given offensively. This is the kind of game I expect going forward as we get more familiar with everyone playing. Get a 4 seed, get a good game in round 2, and maybe an upset in front of us. The team we saw tonight...relentless on the boards, role players making big plays, minimal lapses. The big lead softened our resolve some, but notice as soon as they made it a game, we stretched it back out?
I like this team. We might get some march surprises
