I think you mean "so beautiful". The Rams are back where they belong...ASUHATER! wrote:So weird seeing the los Angeles on the schedule.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?
Re: 2016 Arizona Cardinals
I agree it's where they belong but the last time they were in LA I was 8 and years away from really paying attention to the NFL. They've been in st. Louis for my entire active memory of football and LA was always the weird city that for some reason didn't have and never would again have an NFL team.

I wonder how many Cardinals fans will be in LA for that game.

Re: 2016 Arizona Cardinals
Where are they playing their games while their new place is being built?
P.S. It's nice having all the West division teams in the West.

Cards are taking Boehm, the center from Mizzou. So glad they didn't take Westerman from ASU.

I loves the Nkemdiche pick and like the Boehm pick. The other picks though??? Keim is getting too cute with these small school players. I guess our special teams will be better??

His small school picks have been amongst his best. His 1sts have been his most iffy.ChooChooCat wrote:I loves the Nkemdiche pick and like the Boehm pick. The other picks though??? Keim is getting too cute with these small school players. I guess our special teams will be better??
At this stage, if he takes a small-school player in the 3/4/5/6/7, I figure he's as likely as the 1\2 rounder to make an impact.
Brown, Nelson, Johnson all have shown immense potential.

Re: 2016 Arizona Cardinals
Don't get me wrong I have no beef with Keim and his scouting group out scouting every one and taking a small school guy that they really like. I loved every single player you named and also Gunter, but did Keim really need to take 3 in this draft along with a guy who has played corner for one year and is pretty much just a special teams guy in round 3? I want to like the safety we picked, but that was far from a need as well.JMarkJohns wrote:His small school picks have been amongst his best. Re: 2016 Arizona Cardinals
The question that has to be asked is if any of those players would have been available as UDFAs and if they could have gotten a really good player from a top level Power 5 conference school at a position of need as well.ChooChooCat wrote:Don't get me wrong I have no beef with Keim and his scouting group out scouting every one and taking a small school guy that they really like. There's something to be said for the diamonds in the rough. There's also something to be said for the guys who come from NFL feeder schools, are used to professional level coaching/schemes, and who know what it takes to win at the highest levels.
Personally, as a fan of a team in the Cards division, I hope all these guys are busts.

Re: 2016 Arizona Cardinals
Well, they didn't take them until late 5th and 6th.
Not like they were reaches.
Williams in 3rd is most concerning for me, but apparently his athletic upside is that of a 1st-rounder, and the only reason he was available late 3rd was the recency of his position change.
Going into the draft they needed a pass rusher, a center, a CB or DB, and OL and DB depth.
I'd argue they could have gone ILB as well.
But they filled needs and if you look at the draft, it's littered with small school selection.
At least he didn't trade up day 2 for a kicker.

Re: 2016 Arizona Cardinals
Here's Sporting News listing it's top-16 small school players: http://www.sportingnews.com/list/470103 ... oah-spence" target="_blank
Seems to indicate not just quality picks in Toner and Miller, but very good value as each was projected as high as 4th Round. Miller was late 6th.
Christian Marquis is the big question mark.
He's never listed amongst these sleeper lists, while To ER is on almost all of them, and Miller is on most.
But report have him as. 6-foot, 210 pound, downhill safety with concussive hits, and hard-driving tackles. Maybe a bit small for a strong safety/hybrid S/LB, but most openly questioned the selection of Mattieu for similar.
And he was a late 5th. So not a reach by much of anything.
Williams is still my most concerning, and he has top-end CB length, agility and quickness. Just needs time.

Re: 2016 Arizona Cardinals
lol you got Christian's name backwards, His name is Marqui Christian, and it seems like Keim trusted Adrian Wilson's scouting ability for this one. Sounds like to start off he'll be a box safety and special teams guy solely. He wasn't a need that's for sure, but if you trust Wilson's scouting it seems like he'll contend for a spot in the future.
I agree that Williams is most concerning, and I think a 3rd rounder should be a guy that can play immediately and more than just special teams. He could for sure become an ace cornerback with more development as his measurements sure dictate it's possible, but I would've felt better if he was our 4th rounder instead of 3rd. I personally liked Glasgow at center for us in that 3rd round, but I'm good with Boehm. Miller does sound like a steal and only fell because he ran a 4.65 40 and only bench pressed 8 reps, so speed and strength are an issue. I would've loved to see a Scooby or that temple ILB at that spot though as I felt that ILB was a position of need.
Either way I'll trust Keim and Co. as they've shown that their later draft picks are usually spot on and even arguably better than their early draft picks.

Re: 2016 Arizona Cardinals
It is definitely time to start thinking of a young QB.
Window isn't closed, but defense gives up chunk plays, and offense struggles to get them; defense can't get the ball back consistently, and offense can't hold on to it anymore.
This game should have been 27-6, Cardinals.
But everything that could have went wrong did.
Some of that is coaching. Some of that is execution.
But ultimately some is ability or inability.

Sad that Fitz will retire at some point and likely not get his ring.

I think that's his penalty this week for losing the trash can toss competition among the QB's.
Re: 2016 Arizona Cardinals
Rain or no rain, Chandler Catanzaro sucks.
He made a FG before half. Yippee.
