Your phone is probably foggy from the heat.

I was curious so I went outside with my nice thermapen thermometer...as of 1 pm in central Tucson it is 113 in the shade and 120 in the sun. My brick patio was almost 160 degrees just above the surface.

Upper 80s with a nice breeze. Kids are playing in the pool and I'm lounging in the shade. Couldn't be happier.

Miserable hot like the last three weeks and in the future as far as the forecast can see. Have to mow in the dark of night and otherwise hide indoors with AC.

Forecast high of 76 today, but now says 83. But still very pleasant with low humidity and a cool breeze out here in coastal CA.

Tucson:

http://tucson.com/news/local/article_3b ... &id=201408" target="_blank

Tucson is well on its way of surpassing record-breaking heat this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Tucson.

The Tucson International Airport reported hitting 112 degrees around 12:30 p.m., this ties the old record set in 1989.

Temps are expected to continue to rise throughout the day, with a daily high expected to reach 116 degrees.

This is one degree shy of Tucson's hottest temp ever recorded of 117 degrees set on June 26, 1990.

I walked outside to get something of my patio table and almost burst into flames. Will need another beer to cool down.

I am miserable in AZ in the summer. At least Tucson is better than Phoenix. But the older I get the more I am happy with my living here. the 3-4 months of crap weather is more than made up for by the period between mid October and mid to late May.

Those people are crazy. My wife babysat on Saturday for extra money for a family that lives on DM. The mom was gone for 12 hours on Saturday so she could spend 10 hours running/climbing/hiking up and down Mt Lemmon for 40 FUCKING MILES. She paid my wife 200 dollars so she could destroy herself in 90-110 degree heat exercising. Crazies. Totally lk's type though, about 5'3" and 87 lbs.

I rode my bike up to middle bear on Mt Lemmon on Saturday but I was in my car driving home by 9 am. It was pretty fucking hot by then. These people out later in the day are nuts.

It was 119 when I got into my car at 11am today. It climbed down to 113 a few minutes later. I was supposed to have some drywall put in for the kitchen remodel, but he had a "scheduling conflict". I'm assuming the heat conflicted with his desire to work? It's 68 in my house dude, suck it up

Parents lost power when DJ was on the 16th hole during the US Open and only 10 minutes from the start of Game 7. Had 9 people over for dinner and the game. We packed up everything and went to my Grandpas. Power was out for 3.5 hours and they went home to find a 5' bull snake in the garage and he's still in there hiding under some cabinets. Thanks a lot Steph

Like, Oh My God, oh wait, that's the SFV.

In the central coast area I live, there is only a 10 degree range, from a average high of 65 in December to 75, average high in July.

But we do get extremes on both ends. In SLO right now it's 73, on the way to 89.

No cooling in my office. My window is open, the light is off, my fan is on, my shoes are off, and my cargo shorts are on. (I save the jorts for home).

I was surprised when I left for home the overcast skies in Phoenix. At 3 pm the skies were clear and at 5 pm the sun was gone. Of course Phoenix was hit by a minor dust storm. The rain isn't supposed to hit until next Wednesday.

We just got hammered over the last 45 mins or so here at Prince and Campbell. If I had to guess we got over an inch of rain and up to 70 mph gusts of wind. Neighbors awning is wrecked and part of the property's fence was blown over. Water started flooding in my back door. Definitely a top 5 storm that I've seen in my 30 years of monsoons.
