Kleifield is a 6'2", 221, redshirt Freshman linebacker from Chaparral HS, Scottsdale, AZ. He walked on to the team after totaling 96 tackles and 5.5 sacks as a senior while also being team captain, team MVP, and first team all-state. Kleifield gives us more depth at linebacker and looks to be a high quality walk-on.

Am I reading too much into the idea that a kid who is all state at linebacker has to walk on to a program?

Man, I realize highlight films make all kids look like superman, but damn. He looks like he gets all over the field.

Unranked by Rivals or Scout. Rivals says he has an offer from "San Diego", which I expect is USD, not SDSU.

Dunno, but he's an in-state kid and he's got the size for the position. At worst, you've got a good practice squad guy.
