Best Freshmen

Both Lauri and Rawle made the list.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Thought maybe Kobi would get an honorable mention. Neat to see 4 of the top in our conference.

Couldn't argue with #1 and all that was said. They/he are fun to watch

Hate to say it, but at the college level - TJ Leaf has been the biggest surprise.

I didn't expect Leaf to be this good as a freshman. I suppose one could argue that it's Leaf who's been most responsible for UCLA's early success.

It might be more complicated if that same person was also arguing Lonzo Ball was the best player in all of college basketball, that he would pick Ball to start a college team, etc.

Leaf's work ethic and hustle has been refreshing and the biggest boost to the team. Coupled with Ball being a winner, it's been infectious on the mentality of the team and that's why the chemistry has actually worked incredibly well

So Alford didn't flip some magic switch?

If we had TFerg, I'd take Arizona's freshmen over UCLA's. Without him it's not really a question.

Nope. I doubt he suddenly turned into anew incredible coach but he did sack up and move his son off the ball

Leaf has been incredible.

But if he did not come because of Lauri, or Lauri came because Leaf wasn't...I prefer what we have. Because I do believe we are witnessing one more step in the career of a special player, and it is happening in an Arizona uniform.
