Oh I know. He's lost any leverage he has. He's basically starting over next year with quite possibly just Thomas Welsh. The team is playing for themselves. The coach and his son believe he's an NBA player, you have a player who really hates the coach, you have two guys who are NBA lottery picks and trying to refine that part of their game but in an individual way, and you have a guy who is at the last part of his eligibility and is trying to show that he can have a role in the NBA. The coach can't do anything about it because he's allowed Bryce to manifest into what the team is and a lack of accountability has spread throughout the team. He can't sit Lonzo. He can't sit Leaf. He can only sit one of Holiday, IHam, and Bryce at any one time.Olsondogg wrote:Was moreso talking about Steve putting his son in games where he can't play defense, or offense.MrBug708 wrote:What can Steve say or do at this point?Olsondogg wrote:Well that's basically what Steve's done himself, right?MrBug708 wrote:Wonder what Steve thinks about Ball putting his son ahead of the good of the team?

I don't think they were truly gone, but winning quiets critics. 19-3 isn't anything to sneeze at but we are already out of the race in the PAC 12

dunno if the conf title is out of reach for the bruins, but alfor could easiily atone by winning the pac-12 tourney and earning a nice seed. it'll piss me off if it happens, though the selection committee did reiterate that conf tournaments will carry the same weight as conf titles.
not sure if loball has tourney legs, tho. season weardown is taking its toll.

looks like vegas has higher hopes for the bruins - ucla's still highly favored to bring home a trophy

So does that mean I could bet against UCLA winning and make $0.33 on the dollar? That would be pretty appealing.dirtbags wrote:looks like vegas has higher hopes for the bruins - ucla's still highly favored to bring home a trophy

But if I was going to bet, since I like longshots, my money would be on Washington getting going at the right time, Fultz going HAM, them screwing over whoever is the PAC bubble team (Cal/Utah), and saving Romar's job.

He literally had 40 points off cherry picking and never got back on defense. Good coaching and another great recruit for Alford. He'll fit right in!

Yeah, I know. I've seen Chino Hills play. That whole jack half courters and cherry pick and leave your team to play 5 on 4 on D, that doesn't work half as well in college.MrBug708 wrote:Absolutely. I love that Oregon gets SC on the tail of the trip. That is gonna be a tough couple of games.
Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble!
For that, you'd be surprised. I played with several guys who would have take it upon themselves before the coach would have even had to ask. I'm more shocked it was allowed to happen to that degree and nothing was doneMrBug708 wrote:I doubt somebody goes all John Cheney on another player

Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble!
It goes back to the tail end of Howland and through Alford. It is just a joke, obviously, but you seriously don't identify with it? In an Arizona v. UCLA game, it's just, "Man, these guys are good, so well-coached, and really, really tough." And then you watch them two days later against ASU and they don't know how to take care of the ball, get out of the way on rebounds, enable every back door cut by ignoring defensive assignments, and lose by double digits. And then the same against Oregon State the following week. Then you play them in Vegas and it's all, "HE TOUCHED THE BALL! HE TOUCHED THE BALL!"PHXCATS wrote:Pretty sure UCLA played Oregon tough already. Really don't get this joke that UCLA only plays Arizona tough.
Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble!
Oregon only showed up 45 minutes before the game started. Still waiting for ucla
Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble!
It's going to be pretty humorous when this UCLA team finishes 13-5 or 12-6 in conference
Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble!
I really dont. And ucla was the 1 seed and UA was the 4 in that game.Longhorned wrote:It goes back to the tail end of Howland and through Alford. Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble!
Now just you hold on right there. Arizona was ranked higher than UCLA going into that game, had better wins, and the seed difference resulted from 1 game separation in conference. How did that come about? By beating Arizona twice. After beating us at McKale, they got blown out at ASU by 18 points. They beat us 3 times in 1 season, and then what? They got pummeled by Oregon the next game, and looked bad while getting eliminated. That's totally the pattern we're talking about.PHXCATS wrote:I really dont.
