I think the west goes chalk as the committee absolutely wants a western team on Glendale. Two very passionate fan bases they want in attendance.

The thought of another E8 game makes my stomach sick and it's two weeks away. I actually think our first game will be tougher than maybe our second round. SLC and Steve Nash say hello

I don't think so. How many times has a team run their conference tourney only to be bounced early in the big dance. IMO Oregon will adjust and they still have a very formidable team. I think there is a fair chance that all three Pac-12 elite teams make it to the FF.

So St Mary's is the 25th seed overall but we get to play them in the round of 32?

Gary is a dumbass. Of course he's goes with the popular pick even though we get a rematch with pjc and trier playing. And gonzaga may not even make it out of their side. Couple of tough teams that could knock them off.

Time to switch from cbs. Of course they pick gonzaga. 9 times out of 10 they'll pick the higher seed. We've won all our revenge games and haven't lost to any team twice. I don't see that changing vs gonzaga.

And gonzaga just lost to byu. pretty sure we're better than byu.

So when do they announce game times? Should be some time this evening correct? Need to strategize my get out of work plan (if necessary). I assume with it being in SLC, it will probably be a late game.

Jay Williams has Arizona vs Duke in the FF, Duke wins of course

Seth Greenberg has Arizona vs Duke in the FF, Arizona loses to UCLA in the Natty

Rece Davis has us losing to the zags

Dick Vitale has Gonzaga beating us

Not sure why all the love for Saint Mary's by the Media and oddsmakers. Am I missing something? Gonzaga handled them easily both times. Personally I think VCU could beat them Either way Cats will have a fairly tough game round 2....but you should expect every game to be tough. Saint Mary's isn't making the final 4 lol.

Looking at the seedings I'd rather be where the Cats are than where Gonzaga is. Would rather play VCU/St. Mary's second round than Vandy/Northwestern. I think Vandy is a team that can get hot and really ruin someone's day.

I'm not sure what's up with St. Mary's either. Sagarin has St. Mary's at 25 and VCU at 50 (and Arizona at 18)

They lost to freaking UT Arlington, at HOME

Ive watched St Marys three times. Very fundamentally sound, a few good outside shooters, wont make many mistakes on either end. Their game is inside out with their big white center. Center is deliberate, a little more stout than Dusan but very smart and has good footwork and touch. Not as good as Karnowsky but he will be one of the best big men we have seen this year. Their other big was above average. You guys are going to want to punch their second best player by halftime. All around offensive game and a face that will make you hate white people in goggles for weeks. . Everyone else are just a bunch of guys who will knock down their wide open shots, so its important Dusan and Chance do a good job on their center. They move the ball well so guys need to keep their heads out of the clouds. Play smart ball and our athleticism will take care of the rest IMO. They are the stereotypical Gonzaga-lite without that one outstanding athlete

I don't like the sound of their center. We typically have trouble with that type of player.

It's as simple as this: If we play good basketball, like we did in the Pac 12 tournament, we beat St Mary's in a manner where we aren't biting our nails for 40 minutes. If we play an average game but play smart, limit turnovers, and make our FT's, we beat St Mary's in a close game. If the post-UCLA Wildcats (most games) show up, we go home absent some heroics from Zo or Lauri. That goes for most teams we would face in this field, regardless. I also wouldnt be surprised if we beat the pants off them like we did Gonzaga a couple years ago in the tournament. That Gonzaga team was better than this St Mary's team.

The only thing that would make me sweat is if St Mary's came out and couldn't miss from deep. It is possible, they have several really good outside shooters. You do take relief, however, in knowing that we played UCLA 3x and did a great job on their guards (sans Ball's outburst in the game in Pauley). If you can guard UCLA's backcourt, you can guard anyone's. Yes, their center is good and he will probably go for 20 and 10 against us. We have plenty of good wins where one guy has absolutely killed us though. We have to come out strong though, because we don't want to be playing catch up when they have a for sure thing on the other end and we probably do not have someone we can rely on to get consistent stops on him. And like Gonzaga, they move the ball well and have shooters, so doubling may not be the best solution.

HA HA Dick Vitale was just now explaining why Gonzaga will beat Arizona, and why it doesn't matter that Arizona was shorthanded in the first match up with Gonzaga: "Because Gonzaga beat Arizona at Arizona!"

He got corrected immediately, got flustered, and had nothing more to go on.

Eeew, those plastic, slightly-larger-than-regular-glasses, ones? Gross. If you're gonna wear glasses, you should go all out and be the pasty white guy with the headband who has 50 lbs on you cause he's fat, but also a superb floater for unexplainable reasons.

"Jeff" is also usually left-handed. And drives a nicer car then you would think someone who dresses like that would, but you really don't know a lot about Jeff. He jokes about a wife, but you aren't sure he is married.

YES! Also, literally my Dad. He's 54, drives a burnt orange Scion FR-S (we call it his midlife crisis car!), likes wearing long white socks with no-name goofy tennis shoes, backs his way into the post while asking if I can deal with his "strength" (he's got 80 lbs on me...), and then hits over-elaborate hook shots from the next county over. He's married though, and is right handed. Also he's mostly bald. He says me and my brother "stole his hair"...
