I still don't undersntd why chase would leave. He has star standout all over him with a weak draft class if he comes back.
Right now at best he's destined for Europe.

Can anyone really be that surprised that one would make a seemingly risky move if his name was Chance?

Re: Who's staying? Who's going?
Big picture: A lot of players are using the opportunity. The list is really long. Aaron Holiday and Thomas Welch just added to it. Most are not hiring agents.
Doesn't mean they're not coming back. A lot of conclusion jumping going on. This isn't just a UofA thing.

Re: Who's staying? Who's going?
Hopefully both Kobi and Chance left in good academic standing, as to not hurt the team APR. Don't know what the latest rules are, but from what I have read Kobi stopped going to class for some time.
Re: Who's staying? Who's going?
According to his Snapchat, Chance is still in LA today.
Hmm

If Chance isn't going to class he should not get any privileges when he returns.

We get the 5* with some dings on the record who look at Arizona as a pit stop.

Agreed. Sean Rooks maybe but in no way is he EE and Rooks was in the NBA for 10 years plus with his offensive moves and being a plus in the locker roomJefe wrote:Worst comparison ever. 2 completely different games.whatisee wrote:Dusan is a white mans Eugene Edgerson without the afro and beating anyone up.

Not a fan at all. Hes a situational scorer who is going to have to play SF. Hes not athletic enough to make more of an impact at that position, nor is he long or strong enough to play PF. Not a big fan of his at the next level. Situational role player at best, IMO.ChooChooCat wrote:Tweeners without major athleticism never are projected to be a high pick.cpt wrote:This is why I'm not an NBA Scout: I would figure Dillon Brooks to be a top 10 pick for sure.Merkin wrote:New DX list out.

Tyler Dorsey just declared for the draft and will sign an agent. That's got to be a good thing for Arizona, just another wing that would go ahead of Trier in the draft... Plus we don't have to watch him light it up another year, and think "what could have been".

This. Brooks is good in college, but NBA wise, he has to play the 3. At that position, not much stands out.TucsonClip wrote:Not a fan at all. Hes a situational scorer who is going to have to play SF. I remember people saying Rondae would have shut him down. In the NBA, there are a lot of Rondae's.

I've heard that Trier is likely to announce his decision this week, and is leaning towards declaring for the draft. Has anybody heard similar news?

Re: Who's staying? Who's going?
It's always been expected he will declare without an agent and go through the process, ditto with Rawle of course. They'd both be stupid not to do so as there's no repercussions at all to declaring without an agent. Have always been told if Trier does not get a 1st round promise then the expectation is that he will return. I'm not sure what it would take for Rawle to stay in the draft, but the final expectations are the same as Zo. Anything could happen though.McKale Midwest wrote:I've heard that Trier is likely to announce his decision this week, and is leaning towards declaring for the draft. Has anybody heard similar news?

Re: Who's staying? Who's going?
The only caveat I would put on that is you can only go through the process once. If I were Rawle or Trier and thought I'm a second rounder right now and borderline first next year, I'd try to save the eval to get that first round promise next year if I thought it was unlikely this year.ChooChooCat wrote:It's always been expected he will declare without an agent and go through the process, ditto with Rawle of course. Arguably, there is a downside in getting exposed, as in Jason Gardner. Still, I don't think even that matters, since your limitations are your limitations.
Re: Who's staying? Who's going?
I get that everyone has their own thing and there are family issues and pressures etc. But some of these guys have been huge disappointments off the court and it is frustrating to see.

If Rawle/Trier declare w/o agents does Bowen commit or do they have to announce they're staying in the draft?

I can deal with that. Also, a pretty classy statement by Rawle.

Coaches know in early May. It does cause confusion on who to pursue in the meantime, but it clarifies soon.84Cat wrote:Damn, why would anyone want to coach college ball anymore? How do you know who is actually coming back? This needs to change for the good of the game.
Since it seems like a sensible thing to do (why not get assessed?), I wonder why the decision itself requires a formal announcement with rhetorical flourishes. Just go do it.

Re: Who's staying? Who's going?
Good lord. What a blow to the gut. Rawle is one my favorite Wildcats in recent years. I'm really hoping he comes back for another year, as I think he is going tk make a huge jump from freshman- sophomore.
With that being said. I haven't seen him in any mock drafts. Is that because he was presumed to be staying, or is he not actually predicted to be drafted?

Re: Who's staying? Who's going?
The list of guys declaring is much longer than the number of available spots. I do believe this is the new normal. But the announcements themselves do leave the impression that they are gone.
