Harris is a 6-4, 210, Freshman defensive end from Desert Ridge HS, Mesa, AZ. Last year he had 34 tackles (3 for a loss) and 8.5 sacks. That was a significant drop off from his Junior year when he had 70 tackles (5 for a loss) and 17.5 sacks. Arizona has already talked to Harris about playing the hybrid defensive end / linebacker position. He is likely a redshirt, but who knows until we see how he performs in camp.
Jalen is the son of Sean Harris the outstanding linebacker form Arizona who played from 1991-1994 and then 6 years in the NFL with the Bears and Colts.
70 was the second longest pass play of the season last year (the longest was 75 to Shun Brown against Utah). The 70 yard pass was to Samajie Grant against Grambling State.
