Where are you seeing that? I think that was the monthly price if you choose the annual membership but they charge it all up front. I saw $30 for 1 month. Thread: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4563" target="_blank
I emailed them yesterday and got this back: Currently, we offer a monthly plan for $29.99 a month, and a yearly plan billed at once for $150.00 averaging to $12.50 a month.

Not that I support piracy, but you sort of get why it exists when flohoops wants $30 for a service I intend to use once for only Arizona games. Is flohoops run by Larry Scott's Spanish cousin?Jefe wrote:Where are you seeing that? I think that was the monthly price if you choose the annual membership but they charge it all up front. They are websites that offer ways to watch live sporting events without paying for them. It's not exactly tremendously legal.YoDeFoe wrote:I don't know what this means.CalStateTempe wrote:Will the game be shown on VIP box or 4chan etc?
In this vein, someone was livestreaming Jon Jones/Daniel Cormier on Youtube for a while. I knew about the sketchier websites, but was really surprised about the open piracy on Youtube. I won't publicly commit to whether I'd watch a Youtube post of an Arizona game in Spain. I would think it would be fairly easy, though, as I doubt flohoops has that broad an ability to share upload hash with Youtube for a copyright screen.
Ah, the internet.

Arizona basketball: Chase Jeter will play in Wildcats’ Spain exhibition tour
The Duke transfer has to sit out the 2017-18 season, but is permitted to play in Spain
by Ryan Kelapire@RKelapire Aug 10, 2017, 1:28pm PDT
Chase Jeter has to sit out the 2017-18 season due to NCAA transfer rules, but Arizona Wildcats fans will get their first look at the former Duke Blue Devil in red and blue this August.
Head coach Sean Miller said Tuesday that Jeter is allowed to play in Arizona’s Spain exhibition tour, and will play just as many minutes as anybody else.
The three-game tour runs from Aug. 11 to Aug. 19, with the first game taking place on Aug. 13 in Valencia. Miller said he doesn’t expect to play anyone more than 22 minutes in a game.
NCAA rules permit Jeter to practice with the Wildcats this season.
“It’s going to be exciting to watch our front line practice against each other every day,” Miller said in May. “We talk a lot about the highly competitive environment, and you can say it, but you need the players to represent it and I think Chase was a big, big coup for us. As big as anything we were able to do this spring."

Re: 2017-2018 Arizona Basketball
I don't want to set expectations too high for Jeter, especially bc I was never blown away by what I saw from him at Duke. That said, with a year of practice and acclimation, I think we get (at the very least) a solid vet to anchor our post rotation for two years. That is an underrated asset.

The Spain thread got locked but maybe this is a justifiably a Tucson question: Is there any kind of welcome home show of support at airport or campus? Or best to go quiet and normal like a usual trip?

I'm curious to see if Miller does for Ayton's career what he did for Tarczewski's.
"Arizona got uppercutted out of the 2018 tournament by No. 13 Buffalo, which delivered one of the most overwhelming, lopsided upsets by a double-digit seed in tournament history (89-68). "

Make him a pro player with all conference honors and the most wins in school history? He might, but Ayton is a top 5 pick no matter what.enfuego wrote:I'm curious to see if Miller does for Ayton's career what he did for Tarczewski's.

It's a legitimate observation based on a given track record with top 10 centers (Ayton is a center), albeit the sample size is small.Bangkok Wildcat wrote:What a troll'ish comment....smh. Re: 2017-2018 Arizona Basketball
40% of the votes. I like it.
Here are the quotes:
On Arizona ...
"One, I think Sean Miller is a hell of a coach. They return their backcourt, which I think sometimes gets overlooked in terms of the importance of a good backcourt. They obviously sign (DeAndre) Ayton. Ristic is coming back, the big kid that started for them. I think they added the right pieces. I think they were really tough last year. If they consistently shoot the ball from the perimeter I think they're the best team in the country."
"They have experience and talent. I love DeAndre Ayton. He went from the No. 1 player to an afterthought because of (Duke's Marvin) Bagley and (Missouri's Michael) Porter. But I think he could be better than both. This should be Sean's best team."
"With the amount of returners and incoming talent, they are primed to be at the top of college basketball all year. Especially with how depleted the rest of the pack is. Should be Sean Miller's first Final Four."
And this one hurts:
"...Arizona's that team that always has the talent but always falls a little bit short, a game or two short."

Re: 2017-2018 Arizona Basketball
Here's the thing: whether we are preseason 1 or 5, we are most likely going to be a 1 seed, so come tourney time, we will have the pressure of being the favorite, everyone wanting us to lose, target on back, etc etc. May as well get used to it during the season with national pressure, right?

I find it debatable that a freshman who hasn't played one minute of college ball, can be anointed the best at anything. I'd take Newman/Udoka combo over Trier/Ayton.Merkin wrote:

Solid choices. A transfer guard with a mediocre freshman season and a year of rust under his belt and a center with no offensive game beyond five feet who managed to appear in 11 games last season.enfuego wrote: I find it debatable that a freshman who hasn't played one minute of college ball, can be anointed the best at anything. Newman? Yeah, that freshman year at MSU was really something. Udoka averaged 5 and 4. Maybe it's not crazy to think a really talented freshman could outdo the competition, like two guys who had severely disappointing freshman seasons.enfuego wrote:I find it debatable that a freshman who hasn't played one minute of college ball, can be anointed the best at anything.
