Big name frosh starter? Scottie Young Jr or Kylan Wilborn?
Re: Fire RR
I have to hand it to the AD and RR. They are fighting this and it's probably going to fall into a false allegation. This kid is lucky. Means that he'll get to play vs Colorado. I don't give out kudos often but I will here.

Look at the bright side folks.
Given RR's recruiting results we can be absolutely certain that he doesn't cheat at recruiting!!

Are they fighting because they should? Orlando Bradford and his temper comes to mind

They think they can get it dropped.

Well then I assume if you are giving them credit you must feel it was not a legit charge.
I know RR has said if you hit a women you are done so one can only hope the information backs what is being attempted

Coaches feel it's manufactured. She was charged as well so a chance it could be dropped.

Re: Fire RR
I am not sure why you keep saying this. If my (and others') understanding of the retention bonus is accurate, cutting RR loose at the end of this season is essentially a revenue neutral transaction. We keep the remaining 50% of his O&G LLP sales, and payoff his buyout. I believe those sums come close to balancing each other out.ASUHATER! wrote:This whole thing has saved RRs job. Since the entire basketball program is a question mark we don't have the leeway financially to go looking for a new football coach and to pay buyouts. RR is here for a while now.
After Jam 2018, if we release him he collects his buyout AND 100% of his retention shares.
Unless we want to keep him after this year, there is no financial reason to.

Yea, I say start fresh with new football coach, clear expectations, and see how basketball plays out.
Re: Fire RR
Are the coaches so oblivious they don't realize the strength and conditioning staff are making the players walk stadium steps carrying 50lb sandbags in the middle of a game week? When RR feigns ignorance as to why there are so many injuries, apparently he really is ignorant. Offseason = the time to build strength, game week = the time to keep players in game condition. Unbelievable.

RR doesn't give a fuck. He does what he does no matter what the fall out or concern/s is or are.

Certain it will come down to W and L's for RR this year, but this is W Parks on how instrumental RR was in his development.

Re: Fire RR
How's RichRod been doing recruiting athletes that have legit Div I Power 5 conference offers? How about adjustments to his very predictable offense? Including continue to start the worst passing QB in quite some time. Denker had a very similar noodle arm, but at least he made the right choices and found the open man.
Best thing he has done is give Yates some autonomy on defense, finally, which means less is more.

He has not been recruiting well, but with crappy guys they are fighting hard. Not someone who is mailing it in.
Lack of recruiting success may not be a result of effort.

It is very rare (see Mackovic) for former players to shit on a coach on their way out of a program - unless they are transferring, and even then most say the right things in the public domain.

I don’t believe RRod has checked out, at least not yet. He’s definitely showing frustration on the sidelines, but it’s obvious he wants to win badly, and the guys are still competing. If we only had a serviceable QB on the roster things would be way different.

Re: Fire RR
Yeah, it’s called watching the actual games without having a predetermined notion that we suck and it’s all Rich Rods fault. Both losses could have been wins, in fact should have been wins. Defense is competing play after play. If anything, the offense is playing so tight Rich Rod is probably over coaching (which is not exactly checking out in case you need that spelt out for you genius). If Rich Rod is to Blame for anything it’s QB recruiting. Too many big misses and the leftovers have been projects.ASUHATER! wrote:What evidence do you have of this?KingG wrote:You made a statement, were asked to back it up, and this is all you got? Re: Fire RR
More so than Wins and Losses it'll come down predominantly due to lack of attendance. I don't expect Basketball attendance to suffer this season, but you don't know exactly how the fanbase is going to react to all of this and while it may not impact this season it certainly could impact the next (if a NCAA tourney ban is coming for that year), so Arizona really can't afford to have football be a complete dud in the revenue department and quite frankly if we have a bad year this year and attendance continues to drop you certainly can't retain RR for another year. Heeke and Robbins have a business to run here. Hire a new coach with a new shiny object to sell in the indoor facility and hit the ground running.ramcat wrote:Certain it will come down to W and L's for RR this year, but this is W Parks on how instrumental RR was in his development.

Agree. Dead as a base offensive scheme. Only useful now as the occasional offensive play, you even see it a time or two in the NFL.Chicat wrote:It's dead. Just because you pout on the sideline, and chew the ass of your place kicker twice a game, doesn't mean you are in the game, ready to go, focused, and care. In fact it makes you look like a chump jackass. Add that to the garbage performance of your team, your garbage strength and conditioning program, your garbage record, your garbage recruiting philosophy, your garbage recruiting classes, and your garbage ability to take a couple years off from your garbage recruiting and you have Rich Rod and Arizona Football.
