This leads me to ask, is "cause" defined in RichRod's contract? I'm not a lawyer, much less an employment law expert, but is it possible that all RichRod's "garbage" makes room for negotiation of his buyout? He has not only failed, it appears it could also be said he has been derelict in his duties.

What evidence do you have of this.

I see someone trying and someone who is legit upset after losses and bad plays. Not signs of someone checked out to me.
Evidence? Evidence? This will be fun.

RR started a QB tonight who was playing worse than any other quarterback in the country. Meanwhile, the best player on the entire field sat on the bench.

Wait, I shouldn't say the best player on the field. That doesn't accurately portray his decision making.

The all time NCAA single game rushing QB leader was on the bench. A guy who had an outside chance at the Pac12 single game rushing record. A guy with 5 total TDs tonight. A guy who missed 1 pass on the night.

Did I mention he averaged 23 yards per carry??

And that the only reason he entered the game was due to injury?

If anything I want to fire RR more after this game.

Yea right Chief. That's why I saw an interview with Hanson who might be the biggest local media detractor RR has. He's referred to the team as a dumpster fire and joke and even he's changed his tune. He made the brash statement that a win in Colorado could completely change things around for RR and the team. Of course he probably didn't think they would win but that's beside the point. I swear you make this up as you go Chief.

1 game shouldn't change anything. Chief is an asshole so no thank you. I, unlike a lot of people, stick to my opinions and 1 game that showed nothing but our defense still sucking and RR not being able to coach yet winning doesn't magically right years of wrongs in the program. Fire RR. And stop being an asshole ok?

You know why we have to fire RichRod?

We just had a game in which 80+ points were scored
Our QB just had an all time record breaking performance

And our in game thread had only about 120 responses, mostly by about 10 fans

No one cares right now

Some of us care so little, we don't even care if he's fired or not.

Nice news about Tate's performance, though. Enough to build my usual false hope.

It's Colorado. Come on now. If Arizona beats UCLA this Saturday, I might agree. The only reason Arizona won this game was because of Tate and he didn't go in by RR's choice. RR looks even worse now. The defense is a dumpster fire. This was only Colorado. This is year 6. Should've blown Colorado out. Chew on that for awhile.

If Montez had any touch on his long passes the UA would have lost by at least 2 TDs even with Tate's perfect game. 4 times the CU WR had beaten the UA DB but the passes weren't even close.

Rosen isn't going to miss those passes.

Also, if Colorado didn't shoot themselves in the foot with 2000 penalties. That back up NT screwed up everything. Lol

Only way I get back on the RR train is if we win 9 games this year and sign a top 20 recruiting class for 2018.

The next 2 games are certainly winnable - if we are 5-2 it certainly changes perceptions about 'ole RR I would think (maybe not on this forum).

The thing I like is that we are so young but this group plays hard and we have been competitive so far.

Something to look forward too, maybe not this year, but in the next several years.

Rosen isn't going to miss those passes but UCLA also can't run the ball. They're running for 115 a game. Rosen is throwing for 427 a game and we all know that he's a threat to hit any throw, but if he tosses a couple of picks then UCLA is in big trouble.

No because I'm a realist. I don't giggle and run around saying Omgz RR is the best coach ever lifetime contract!!!! Because we beat Colorado on the road by 3.

The whole body of work is what matters not 1 performance by a QB. But hey if you want to be an idiotic asshat who let's one game at a time sway you back and forth, so be it.

Yea and the only reason Colorado lost was because they couldn't complete the long ball and a zillion penalties.Oh and what were the penalties from? Mostly frustration at being run around and over and through. Oh and they couldn't stop Tate and their QB got sacked four times in the first half and was pressured the rest of the game. And if the dog hadn't stopped to take a crap he would have caught the rabbit. I don't know what your issue is now other than you still hate everything RR. No you truly are an Asshat. No one said RR was the best coach over and yea I'm happy we beat Colorado and never once thought we're anywhere near a great team. All I see is improvement this year on defense and some hope for the future. You actually seem angry that we won and that makes you an even worse asshat.

Don't think you can read. I'm very happy we won and that Tate tore it up. That's exceedingly obvious. It's just that it in no way changes my views on RR needing to go.

And color me surprised that giving up 42 points and 280 rushing yards to 1 guy is now considered improvement on defense.

Times really are a changing if that's considered good.

A lot of smoke and mirrors that CO game; defense couldn't stop a lick second half, and lucky our qb set an fbs record for rushing. No way we win that game with Dawkins. RR whole coaching job on the backs of his qb, we'll see how the next 3 games go.

Yeah we need a truly perfect game by Tate to win. CO made a lot of mistakes with penalties and missed easy TD passes. UCLA has way more pure talent than CO, but lucky for us they also have shitty coaching!

Yeah, and the fact we are having this discussion during RR's sixth season at Arizona is pathetic. Stop and think about that. Year freaking six and you're freaking out about a garbage win against a garbage team with a mediocre QB. That's some funny shit. Please continue living out your Rich Rod fantasy, sir.

Chief getting nervous that RR might survive? His record and team competitiveness should decide his fate.

It is funny to see him squirm and you can see his true colors that he sees no value in a win on the road and can't even find joy in a wildcat win.

No, I see the same issues most do BUT I can rejoice in a road win and of we all of a,sudden have a Cam Newton on our hands who leads us to several wins I am OK with whatever decision Heeke makes.

Chief is in obvious anguish over this result. He has been beating this drum for so long and Is so close he can taste it. He even will accept losing at all costs to prove he was right.

He is a giant turd and a huge program cancer

He should be getting nervous because after last night RR isn't going anywhere. For a number of reasons but last night showed the AD and the Prez what they wanted to see. That's not speculation on my part - they wanted to see that the young talent that RR has amassed - can play. The D has been solid and Tate showed what the offense can do with the right QB. The haters can hate all they want but the bottom line is they're not going to spend the money needed to buy out this staff. Not going to happen. They wanted to see improvement and a future and they've seen it.

I don't know how the hell you'd gather that from 1 game where the defense was good awful. Basically the only good part was Tate and the overall result...rest was garbage. Just like the last 32 or so games we've played under RR. 1 game does not erase the previous 31 in which RR had a 12-19 record with a lot of non competitive blowouts. This really isn't hard to understand.

Well we have been known to be very patient with our football coaches.

If RR beats UCLA one would think he is a lock to be retained.
Tates play was just outstanding and the kid is just 18. Defense was on the field way too much but that was because Tate was unstoppable.

The D has been better and showing improvement with some promising young talent, e.g., Schooler, Young and Field come to mind. Last night, however, was a bit of a step back to the gash fests of old. Philip Lindsay is legit though and the Buffs rode him like a rented mule.

Some perspective please. It's clear RR let recruiting go to pot and the results of the last few years tell the story. But I am beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel. We are an extremely young team but the defensive effort and talent is more than I expected. I'm pleasantly surprised by the improvement. If this were a veteran defense, I'd be worried about the future. But the fact that we're playing so many freshman is exciting. Hell, back in 1990 Arizona was getting rolled by UW 55-0. Then the tide turned as new recruits arrived, took their lumps as underclassmen and by 1992 you could see the momentum swing.

I think RR has the program headed back in the right direction. But with Arizona football, the margin for error is thin. Injuries, eligibility, etc...can derail the recovery. Just some perspective: a few years ago Mike Leach had Wazzu going nowhere, Colorado was a dumpster fire, Utah consistently looked outclassed for the Pac 12. Hell, even ASU looked primed for a leap forward to finally reach their potential. None of those programs are where they were 3-4 seasons ago. And despite all their recruiting victories, what the hell has UCLA ever done?

So I'll play a "wait and see" with RR and Arizona football. I don't expect a victory over UCLA this week. I think we're capable of beating Cal, Oregon State and ASU. And Oregon hasn't done anything to impress me. We have three wins so far. If RR can get to 6 I think he saves his job and rightly so, especially with such a young team. The future looks a heck of a lot brighter than it did a season ago.

I've waited and seen what RR had done for 5 1/2 seasons. I feel it's like I'm reliving 2010 again under Stoops. How long do you need to "wait and see"? 4 seasons? 6? 12?

6 is plenty long to see this program is going nowhere great under RR.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

i'll just go with fuck asu.

It is funny to see him squirm and you can see h I should true colors that he sees no value in a win on the road and can't even find joy in a wildcat win.

True cancer
Interesting. So.....Dawk missing easy throws to fucking wide open targets and pretty much giving us the win in both of those games had he connected would have us at fucking 5-0. Do you want to debate that I'm saying we should be 5-0 if we had a QB that could make pedestrian throws?

Let's go!

It's hard for YOU to understand because you know nothing about football. Arizona has 61 true frosh and or red shirt frosh. Add another 20 sophs and you have 81 guys that were recruited to what RR wants to do on both sides of the ball.

You think it's no big deal to just fire and bring in the next guy so you can continue to bitch about the coach and the team. You fire RR and are you hiring a defensive minded coach? Are you hiring a coordinator? Are you hiring a guy that runs what RR does in regards to his offense? If you are then you think that said coach/OC can run the offense better than RR can? Really? Think about that for a second? You're going to spend $8 million dollars on a guy that you think can run RR's O better than RR? Because when RR was let go at Michigan the new staff was forced to run RR's offense the next season because of the guys they had recruited. How did that same staff do when RR's players were gone? So who are you bringing in to run the offense? Or are you going to bring in a defensive minded coach and make him hire an OC that can run RR's offense? If that's the case then you're tying yourself to that hire and he better win right away because if he doesn't - we're Oregon state and you will be out of a job when we have to hire a new football coach. I look forward to your reply.

So because there's hard questions to answer your solution is to say "sigh.. fuck it, let's give up and keep the same coach since it's too hard to find a new one". That's loser talk. Get outta here with that garbage. You're embarrassing yourself. F- minus post.. just God awful. Take a couple days off and reevaluate your life. Bleh that garbage of a shit post is making me sick.

Thanks for proving my point. You know nothing about football. All you want to do is continue to bitch about something you know nothing about.

You can only have 85 kids on scholarship and you are saying you only have 4 kids that are 4th or 5th year players? Or are you including walkons in that number?!?

I don't think you know what you're saying. If you supposedly "know about football" you would have a vastly different opinion if you've watched the last 6 seasons. Just stop now. It's getting sad seeing you defend a losing coach and a losing program that is lost and going in the wrong direction. Learn about football, go back and rewatch the last 6 seasons and come back mmmkay?

Yes he is counting walk ons Bug. We had like 47 new players this year. Had about 20 walk on's, just a Crazy number.

The arc of the program might be flat through 5 years plus but it is easy to look at with Tate at the helm a huge uptick might be coming

Those numbers were given during the game last night by Yogi Roth. Even if it includes walkons the numbers are still relevant. We've signed 77 players the last 3 seasons (29, 19 and 29).

You're so pathetic. Still waiting on who you would hire to be our next coach?
