You know Trump. He's the white Lavar. Those two are cut from the same cloth.

How many games do you suspend these guys for being this stupid, costing UCLA a lot of money and embarrassing your country?

Didn't think Trump could do it, but I'd be willing to bet China was going to do this anyways, they just decided to do Trump a favor now

I doubt athletics does anything about this. This is going to be administration that suspends the kids. With the laptop trio, it was in the summer so they had bailout options.

I feel a certain amount of relief personally, I can't imagine what those three kids feel. I guess I over-blew it in my mind but I really thought this had the potential to be bad, bad, bad.

The only thing that could stop it is that the Charge a seemed to have been dropped. It will be interesting to see what ucla does with it now. It hink they are under such a microscope, ucla has to come down hard.

Press conference tomorrow for the players. Expulsion seems unlikely now without any charges.

Thank goodness this harrowing experience is coming to an end. I know I speak for everyone in saying I'll sleep better knowing that Li'Angelo Ball and his besties will soon be back stateside, where they can break the law with much less push back from local authorities, and Lavar close by with a wad of cash and a itchy Twitter finger.

Four thoughts:

- I'm very happy the three kids are on their way home and not in a gulag (!)
- It will be interesting to hear the players version of events as I am not taking China's version at face value and rushing to blast them. Presumed innocent.
-Trolling UCLA will be so easy they will never live this down
- Fire Larry Scott. He needs a Direct TV obsession not a China obsession

I'm surprised you don't like China. I thought you'd be on board with their strategy of placing a defensive outpost (wall) in a zone of their country rather than attempting to concentrate on individual invading Mongolian nomads.

Actually, last I checked, Trier won Pac-12 player of the week, we're 2-0, and building nice momentum for the season.

I thought I read in an article that Hill stole the LV glasses and Ball and Riley were accomplices and didn't report him

I could see Hill getting a 3-5 game suspension. Maybe 1-2 games for Ball and Riley.

I thought it was fairly widely reported they stole from 3 different stores, evidenced by video surveillance? Not sure if it was all Hill in those cases, but the theft's seem to be more severe than a pair of sunglasses.

Both stories are out there, which makes me think nobody really knows.

It will be interesting to see what punishment is handed down. No matter what UCLA does, not everyone will be pleased... It will be too harsh or too lienent.

Just read it. He must be looking at that as a statement on the Pac / China deal that he needed to lead with the incident. Because if that's the only statement he releases, it begs the question of how different it would read if it had been Arizona instead of UCLA for sure.

I would imagine so but ucla has a brand presence in the far East with quite a few stores that sell merchandise for ucla. I doubt they sell LV sunglasses though. The PAC-12 will probably want to send ucla over there but athletics might not be too thrilled with that

Are they going to hang a banner with Trump’s tweet? So Alford can point to it while recruits visit and say, “and if you ever do anything stupid, Trump’s got your back.”

So UCLA's response these three embarrassments (*they now have admitted they stole luxury goods, while in freaking China on a Pac-12 goodwill trip, causing an international incident involving Trump) is ........ to suspend them for some number of basketball games?

Ridiculous! UCLA can't bring themselves to salvage their last shred of dignity and expel them I guess! (And I say that as an Arizona fan skeptical of Miller in our own situation, viewing this year with a bit of a jaundiced eye, waiting for the fallout)

Lastly, LiAngelo Ball sounds dumb. Really really dumb, for real.

I'll never understand why he sold out the program for the Ball family. So far, the Balls have produced a 3rd place Pac finish and a Trump pardon.

Hey, that's funny, I'll never understand why you'd troll Arizona fans, make a bet, and then bitch out of it. Sometimes life is just funny like that, right?

Seriously, though, why is UCLA committed to the Ball family? The deal has been terrible for the program's reputation and Lonzo, the best of the bunch, has already left without much impact. Lavar is universally despised, LiAngelo is suspended indefinitely, and LaMelo is likely ineligible. As an Arizona fan, I love that UCLA's Faustian bargain is backfiring in spectacular fashion, but I'm sick of hearing about these idiots every week. It's a shame Lonzo will have to help Lavar out of bankruptcy due to his ridiculous BBB venture and extravagant spending on the two untalented brats. Good luck in the NIT. You guys should be at least a 3 seed.

I don’t understand why they aren’t suspended for the season, or at least for a defined time period. Indefinite strikes me as “until the team needs you”.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?
