I had thought that the traveling team brought their conference's refs, not sure if that's true or not but seems to make sense. Not that it ever helps Arizona.

73-58 Cats win
It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:

Getting outrebounded will do that. Add in turnovers, a few minutes of shaky D and you have something that was way closer than it should have been.

Yeah, I wondered about that. In a way it's not as bad as seeing a Pac-12 Ref culture of ganging up on Ayton in conference play.

I bag on Ristic and PJC all the time, but Ristic had an incredible game, esp. when Ayton was on the bench.

PJC more TOs than assists, but that last 3 was big.

the refs helped keep the game close, especially in the first half.

Once again the bench didn't contribute much, I think a Smith 3 and that was it for the bench contribution.

What happened to Barcello? PJC was being killed on defense, and didn't do a whole lot on offense. Trier seems to be the backup PG, which is OK.

Barcello has shown he aint ready for the bright lights on the big stage. When he proves he can step up he will get time.

I am so impressed with Rawle. He is our best defender. He can handle the ball. Very good rebounder. Good outside shooter. Can drive the paint. I want the ball in his hands with the game on the line. All of this and he has only played a few games this season.

Agree, didn't see anyone blow by Alkins like they did Trier and PJC.

I thought Alton did a pretty good job on defense too, although the refs didn't think so.

Offensively yes. Defensively he was exposed. For a seven footer, he does a terrible job of protecting the rim. Although Ristic isn't totally to blame for our defensive problems, he is what he is. Miller really is in a quandary playing him. Offensively he is really skilled around the basket and makes shots. But damn, UCONN had about 15 2nd chance points tonight. Way too many and Ristic was usually the culprit.

Wow! Thanks for that. That gets my competitive juices flowing. I want to schedule every team that has a winning record against us and every team tied with us. Actually, many of them make sense to schedule, some as early season "buy games" and others as home and home. Xavier and Georgia Tech would have a great story line. I wonder if Bowling Green State and some others still have teams.

So I wasn't alone. I've seen a few things so I know a few things, but there is no way I could spout all of the things from memory that Walton does. OTOH, I don't put my foot in my mouth as much as he does.

Pjc is a ghost in big games
His first 3 years, I didn't expect much from him away from McKale. I don't know what to expect this year, but he has lost money for RAP in 3 of the last 7 games. He came out even once, and earned money 3 times.

The public writing and calling (do I have to add texting now?) the networks must like the two of them together.
