I brought up Seth Litrell the other day as a joke. Wouldn’t be surprised at this point.

I’m not an insider. No one is. I’m an outsider looking in.

I'm just happy that when I woke up, the Navy coach had declined the offer. No, I wasn't afraid he would bring the triple option here. I was afraid that, because that has been the only offense he has run, he wouldn't really know WHAT kind of offense he would run. As someone said several pages back, we don't want to be an experiment.
I hope it is Baldwin, out of the names that have been floating around.

Name Yates the coach, get a good DC, and let's get to work.

Total shit show over there and those good posters are buried in all the rabble. Don't know why they feel their loyalty to Scheer precludes them from hanging out here too. There's a new thread for every thought and Scheer's as guilty as any of them for that. Impossible to follow and exacerbated by this search a hundred-fold. If anything, it's convinced me to cancel.UAEebs86 wrote:Alieberman wrote:There is a reason you never pay for premium.
All of these Arizona "Insiders" are just as clueless as the rest of us. They don't know anything.
I let my subscription lapse awhile back (originally signed up on a special) and resisted Scheer's latest 3 for 1 offer. Thanks for confirming I did the right thing.
Wish we could get a few of the old posters from there over here (Winger, SalimsHeadband, DCCat,etc.)

This tells me all I need to know about the media's role in coaching hires.Sources tell FootballScoop this tweet spooked Arizona’s president and gave him pause during the search. Arizona and Niumatalolo were already well into negotiations at this point sources tell FootballScoop. Saturday morning both the search firm and Niumatalolo thought they would get a deal done we are told; but University leadership had yet to fully approve the hire. Later Saturday the public began to see tweets DHR hoped would begin to sway Arizona leadership back in support of Niumatalolo; but it appears those tweets (from writers and coaches) were about two days too late.

The "insider websites" don't have any info, infact I only like the other site because 97cats and Winger used to post there a lot and do a podcast from time to time. Now with out any of that, i don't really see the value the other sites add, when we have a much better community here.Alieberman wrote:There is a reason you never pay for premium.

Re: Arizona Coaching Search
The thing that bugs me most is Heeke had since Thanksgiving to put this all together. And now it appears (key word) that we are scrambling.
Re: Arizona Coaching Search
And from the department of deflection, Scheer style:
Yeah, dude, you single-handedly saved Arizona basketball and that all makes up for basically being a show runner in this latest sh*tshow. Should we applaud or boo and hiss now?
Sorry, but for all the justified railing against the "cult of personality" and how it has absolutely turned functional American democratic politics to sh*t, this giant eye-roll of a coaching search has taught me one thing: the cult is getting just as bad in sports as well.
Instead, the fallout on Twitter is nothing but doubling down on denial and taking gigantic amounts of credit for things you really weren't that responsible for.
Own your mistakes. That's the bottom line. In ANY profession.

At this point would've been better to let rrod coach team next season. This way you you have a year to plan and get the guy you really want. Right now it looks like grass isn't always greener on the other side. Right now herm edwards hiring doesn't look so bad

Shit since Tomey is so damn involved anyways, hire him at $30k a month to CEO this thing and gladhandle boosters. Spend the money you're saving on HC to bring in two elite coordinators at $1.5M each with each one of those coordinators and their position coaches being responsible for recruiting their side of the ball.
