Re: Game 20, at Stanford (2017-2018)
Coach is playing his bench today. I think we will see only 6 or 7 guys in the 2nd half

And yes, last year's Alkins would've already teabagged some folks.

We got away from team ball, and without Ayton on the floor the team just isn't as good.

Not to mention that Stanford has abandoned the man/man defense for a zone.........which we are having our usual problems withPieceOfMeat wrote:we've gone cold and are clanking shotsNYCat wrote:How is this a 5 point game

Well, at least the UA didn't have an end of half turnover leading to a Furd fast break.

Does Trier shoot anything but 3s anymore?
Re: Game 20, at Stanford (2017-2018)
Are u f'ing kidding me...Thats so f'ing garbage. That last 7 minutes is why this team can't be trusted at all to make a long run in the tourney

Any coach who doesn't zone us should be immediately fired.

Inexcusable that we have an offensive drought like that. Once again zone defense makes us look bad.
Re: Game 20, at Stanford (2017-2018)
Announcers correctly calling out this team's complete lack of floor awareness and possession IQ.
Turd of a final seven minutes.

Everyone in the building knew Trier was taking the last shot and wasnt giving it up. The last seven minutes were pathetic. Cant screw around when Stanford has a weapon that can put Ayton on the bench.

Thankfully our defense showed up today. Could be a stressful second half.

Team isn't capable of playing 20 minutes of good basketball, let alone 40.

This has been more of a recent trend though - we looked good against zones coming into conference play.WildcatStunner wrote:I am getting tired of our team looking lost against the zone year after year

Re: Game 20, at Stanford (2017-2018)
Me too. You would figure CSM would work on tackling zones a lot more since everyone uses it against us. But it seems every time an opponent uses a zone against the Cats we fall apart and look lost. I know I am going to get blasted for this but it is the first time I wonder if CSM will be able to take us to a FF. I would say that this could be on the team except it happens every year. This is also the first time that UA should start thinking about going in a different direction. I can't see the Cats getting over this hump now, no matter the talent we are getting. And with the FBI investigation I don't see it getting any better, whether it is CsM's fault or not.WildcatStunner wrote:I am getting tired of our team looking lost against the zone year after year
Re: Game 20, at Stanford (2017-2018)
Mixing in a zone defense for a few possessions could have slowed Reid Travis from going off.
