I feel old watching Haase coach Stanford. He's done an excellent job so far. But damn, that boy has put on some major weight.
Re: Pac-12 game thread
I think the toughest game on our schedule might be USC at home. Might be tougher than the Oregon schools on the road, at ASU or UW.

Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Re: Pac-12 game thread
More than just the 2-3, their transitional D prevents drives. And they're so active in the zone that ASU can't get clean looks well behind the 3 point line. I don't know if maybe ASU could do a better job in working the ball out again after penetrating.Bangkok Wildcat wrote:Yeah, I’m trying to scout them and figure them out as much if a layman as I am.Longhorned wrote:Washington's defense is nasty.

I wonder how we will attack / fare under this defense.Longhorned wrote:More than just the 2-3, their transitional D prevents drives. Looks like that area under the free throw line is wide open at some point if there’s enough ball movement. Justice hit a few and then drove in for another. Seems like ASU is always so in love with the 3 ball though.
Re: Pac-12 game thread
Justice is actually a pretty smart player. The elbow at the key is the soft spot in the zone. We can put Dusan, D'Andre, Rawley or Allonzo there and be successful against this zone. Gonna need PJC to knock down some open J's when he has the opportunity. He's in a shooting slump and needs to break out.Bangkok Wildcat wrote:I wonder how we will attack / fare under this defense.Longhorned wrote:More than just the 2-3, their transitional D prevents drives. My thoughts while watching this game. Both beat Kansas who sits atop the scary Big XII, though forever ago is still interesting.97cats wrote:both these teams suck

Thybulle looks like a really good defensive stopper....one of his fouls should have been a steal IMO....so far he has 6 official steals this game.97cats wrote:both these teams suck
Re: Pac-12 game thread
That was just a horrible call on UW. Pac 12 refs call so many offensive fouls. Their suckage can't be overstated.

What happened to Oregon?
Re: Pac-12 game thread
Thanks for the help UCLA!
Really should've fouled at the end though.

Biggest win of the Alford era. UCLA threatening to become a 3rd tier national program again.

Hope Alford is at UCLA for life and dominate them.

Re: Pac-12 game thread
11 games into the ACC schedule and Virginia has probably already won the conference
Re: Pac-12 game thread
Washington scored a total of 40 tonight on 28% against the defensive juggernaut of Oregon
Re: Pac-12 game thread
Wow, ASU actually helped us out. One of their players did say they need to "bear down".

And Oregon was blown out by 35 at Stanford last weekend. Lots of parity in the Pac this year.Frybry02 wrote:Washington scored a total of 40 tonight on 28% against the defensive juggernaut of Oregon

Could this be the year when only the winner of the PAC-12 tournament gets an invite to the big dance?

We're practically a lock, barring a complete collapse. I think USC gets in, barring the same collapse. ASU will get in as long as they go .500 or better in the Pac. UCLA is getting closer. Wins over USC, UA & Kentucky will help. I think they'll get there. UW needs to finish strong and have a decent conference tourney. When the dust settles, I think the Pac will get 4 teams, none of them with great seeds.
