Nick Foles Super Bowl MVP!

Post by Bangkok Wildcat »

Gotta have a separate thread if you are the Super Bowl MVP. So damned proud of Nick and his performance tonight. That only interception isn’t on him but on Jeffery too.

Great job Nick. Way to represent Arizona! Bear Down.

Yeah, sorry POM, I hate unnecessary threads but DAMN, Super Bowl MVP (just like a Heisman ;-) ) deserves its own thread.

Nick also seems like such a classy and cool Dude. Loved his humble acceptance of the MVP trophy.

Thanks POM. Maybe it should be pinned? ;-). I still can’t believe it....He started out strong in the NFL, then not sure what happened...but it was an idiotic trade to Saint Louis for Bradford.....Then he gets back to Philly as a backup. Wentz gets hurt and everyone seemed to think they had no chance with Foles while I was thinking WTH?

Foles is a stud and he certainly proved it in the Playoffs. Most impressive was his outdueling the GOAT Brady. Wow, just wow.....seems surreal. Not a huge fan of the NFL these days but so incredibly proud of Nick, Gronk, Flowers and the other stud Wildcats that have played / succeeded in the league.

Bear Down Nick. You deserve this so much!

Oh and that TD catch on 4th and Goal by Nick was the play of the game IMHO! Gutsy call, incredible execution.

The very first game I ever attended at Arizona stadium in a skybox was that infamous UCLA game after Stoops had been fired...we came out loose and just throttled UCLA from start to finish. That was a great game, the one that had the streaker, the fight break out during that, just a wild game all around.

But up in those skyboxes you can really see everything like coaches watch for on film. There was a play where Nick took the snap at our own 35 yard line, did his casual roll out to the right (kinda slow and awkward like Nick does, but yet quite effective to move the pocket just enough for a throwing lane), and as he was running sideways, off his back foot, he just casually flicked a pass that made it all the way into our end zone. It was like a 70 yard pass off his back foot, and it was like nothing. Had to be among the best arm strength I ever saw, and thought then that this guy really does have NFL arm strength, but like everyone dismissed Foles because of his limited mobility and whether that would work in the NFL.

But as we saw in the Super Bowl, with a good game plan harnessing that strong arm, staying in the pocket mostly, Nick is more than serviceable than many NFL QBs out there. Certainly back-up good, and pretty cool Arizona football now has the current NFL Super Bowl MVP, a qb no less, as a former player-and he's a great guy to boot.

Nick was always a gamer. Coaches wouldn't play him because they didn't see it in practice. Went up to Iowa with a young Matt Scott flinging the ball everywhere...I was there. WRs were open. Nick comes in, makes the score cosmetic, and then how many 2 minute drills did he execute?

When the lights come on...Nick is there.

awesome, thanks for the video clip, i love how pederson has to stare at him for a couple seconds while he contemplates if what Foles just said was crazy, or crazy like a fox.

My only regret is that I bet $50 on the Eagles win and only $20 on the Foles MVP. I would have won a boat load mor money. How dumb was I? The only way Foles could have won MVP was if the Eagles won. I should have gone 50 on both.

He has a house in Corona Del Mar and lives there in the Off Season. Lives really close to a buddy of mine.

I played golf with him a couple years ago in his agents charity golf event. Super nice guy and wife is from Orange County. Very down to earth and could not be more thrilled for him.
