Re: Kansas
I watched the game. It was a solid "L". UA was the beneficiary of some questionable calls...like Trier's 4 point play. He was untouched on the three, but sold it with a head bob at the end when the Washington player was already on his way to half court. Washington is a talented team. A good, solid loss on your record.BBQ wildcat wrote:Using enfuego's logic, this would be considered a technical win for UA, right?Phylek wrote:I'll take losing by 3 on the road to losing by 9 at home.enfuego wrote:Let's go Huskies...Chicat wrote:

Can we please get Kansas in a 2-3 or 4-5 seed match up this year? PRETTY please??

It's possible that this was the easiest and most obvious "touch on the elbow" foul call of all time. So if you're going to troll, at least try harder.enfuego wrote: I watched the game. Technically.
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Embarrassing. And double technical loss to Kansas for the refs jobbing WVU from an objective perspective, and typically boneheaded execution by WVU in spite of having such a great coach.TatetheGreat wrote:Wow, that Azubuike flop was something else

That’s twice WVU has choked away large leads to KU. I bet KU wins the Big 12 yet again. Got to give them props in a season where they aren’t very good.

Re: Kansas
Putting last night into perspective:
Kansas was 316th in the country at 16 free throw attempts per game.
WVU was 115th with 20.6
That is the largest free throw disparity Kansas has ever had in a Big 12 game and the largest they've had in over 20 years in any game.
Before last night, WVU had shot 2 free throws or less in a game 1 time since 1906.
It's always bad at Allen Fieldhouse, and that's probably why Kansas has lost in the 1st or 2nd round of the NCAA tournament 8 times in 20 years, but last night was the worst free throw disparity in over 110 years of WVU basketball and the worst ever for Kansas against a major conference opponent.

Re: Kansas
There is going to some FT disparity based on style of play. WVU wasn't attacking the rim. But late in the game the refs let a lot of stuff go inside against KU that should've been fouls. It's hilarious that Enfuego was harping on the officiating in our win over ASU.

Re: Kansas
Enfuego needed ASU to beat us to justify Kansas’s loss to them.
We obviously have no dog in the WVU/KU matchup. So we can be unbiased while it’s obvious he has plenty of reasons not to be.

Re: Kansas
I agree that style of play results in disparity in the amount of FTs. However, no differences in style of play should result in one team attempting 35 FTs while the other only attempts 2.zonagrad wrote:There is going to some FT disparity based on style of play.
