Ticket buying strategy
A friend of mine is visiting for the BYU game. This is my first season back in Tucson since I was in school. I was just planning on buying scalped tickets week to week. He wants to get tix ahead of time for this game. Stub Hub has tickets on the 20 yard line lower level East side for $90 each. That sounds unreasonably expensive for mediocre tickets. But maybe I just don’t know the market. If that’s the going rate, it at last partially explains the low attendance. Any thoughts about the best way to get tickets for the game?
Re: Ticket buying strategy
No idea how those tickets would be on sale since that's the student section...
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.
i'll just go with fuck asu.

Re: Ticket buying strategy
You can get season tickets in the upper deck for $70, single game is $13.
I have a pair of season tickets on the westside for $99 each.
Can't imagine paying $90 just for that game.

I am sure you are looking in the 100 level not the zoo like the dunce suggested. That is the singe game price in that area and it almost sold out on the UA website. You can get similar seats on the westside though for 60ish a piece.
If you want seats of the quality you mentioned my suggestion would be to buy them now on the west side. Row 40 to 65 on the west side is similar to the 100 level on the east except you dont have seat backs. Or wait about two weeks. When the season tickets get mailed out more will hit StubHub. But keep in mind demand is high since it is Sumlin's first game, the LDS population is pretty high in Arizona and fans in Utah can make an easy trip of it

Thanks, that’s useful!
Yeah, I’m a bit surprised at those prices. And not at all surprised we have an attendance problem. That’s pretty steep for a single game in non-premium seats in a city like Tucson.

Re: Ticket buying strategy
Yeah, similar tickets through UofA website are $75. Definitely need to go that route.
Sorry I misrepresented the ticket location originally. The $90 seats on Stub Hub are where I said but West side. The 100 level seats on East Side were $105.

Stubhub people get greedy. They ask for the moon and then lower the price when more tickets in the area come online and the event date nears.
Ticket plans and season tickets have much lower prices per game. I get it if you are coming to one game or so. But my tickets around the 20 on the west side for the season are just over 200. For all seven games. And there is a tax deductible portion of them.

Yeah the problem for this game was my friend coming to town. I may do season tix for the rest of the year.

Single game seats are up at UA Athletics.

Re: Ticket buying strategy
Plenty of $56 tickets on 20 yard line on west side..not bad. $76 gets you 30-40 yrd line.

Re: Ticket buying strategy
I went ahead and got section 20 west side for BYU for the two of us. And I also bought section 20 season tix just for myself. So if anybody knows anyone who needs a single ticket for BYU, let me know. I’ll let it go for a bit below list price.

You could have received two from this website free if you had the best pregame write up on the game

Re: Ticket buying strategy
Nice. I’m new in town—literally know nobody. So I can’t really rely on people giving away tickets at tailgates I’m not invited to. Any more than I want to rely on my writing skills to score tickets.
But I’m excited to get out to the games! And now I know I’m set for tickets for the season. Maybe we can have a forum tailgate at some point!

Re: Ticket buying strategy
I splurged on 2 NEZ tickets for a little more than $600.
It’s cheaper than what I thought.

..and you can always migrate closer to the 50 yard line by the 2nd quarter.

Re: Ticket buying strategy
They better as it will be a morgue against Southern Utah. Less than 40K for that one since it is at 8PM. It would help if they made that one $1.00 beer night

Not sure how you know the attendance figure weeks ahead of time...azcat49 wrote:They better as it will be a morgue against Southern Utah. Less than 40K for that one since it is at 8PM. It would help if they made that one $1.00 beer night
If we beat BYU and with Tate and Sumlin and all the offseason improvements I'd bet on 45-50k for Southern Utah easy.

Well I hope you are right but given we probably have about 5-8K that come down from Phoenix who might say they will watch that one on TV (That would be me) is the biggest reason I think it will be less. Of course I have no clue on what it will look like, just making my thoughts known.
I also think you meant to say if we beat BYU AND Houston right?

Re: Ticket buying strategy
I tried to buy tickets tonight and got an error "couldn't create customer." Weird since I've bought tickets through our platform without issue in the past. I guess I'll call the ticket office tomorrow

I have family coming in for Thanksgiving and they want to go to the UA/ASU game. What is the best strategy to get get tickets?
Re: Ticket buying strategy
In the recent past, they've let students reserve their ticket and then sell the leftovers closer to the game (similar to basketball). I'm not sure when that occurs but that might be the best chance at price/quality seats, but you are risking not getting tickets (I'm not sure if those sell out quickly)84Cat wrote:I have family coming in for Thanksgiving and they want to go to the UA/ASU game. My strategy for buying tickets is to buy a couple off of UaEebs86 for a good price!
