Good thing hbu sucks at freethrows
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Doesn't look like I'm watching a tournament team. I think we're in for a 2012 type year.NYCat wrote:They're playing like this at home, imagine Maui or at Alabama and UConn

Gonna be an interesting season my friends...
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?
Re: Game 1, vs Houston Baptist (2018-2019)
Really need one of the Brandon's to pick things up. Those are honestly our only two playmakers/scorers right now. I like Luther's game, especially against the zone. Coleman can create shots, but too many turnovers. Good defense overall...I like Jeter. But wow this offense is ugggly.
Re: Game 1, vs Houston Baptist (2018-2019)
That was a slog. Man, maybe the media was right putting us at like #90 in the country. We look like dogshit at home. Not promising.

Bring Rhonde off the bench.

We'd have to improve to get an NIT bid. Which I think we can, just not pretty to watch right now.loomer wrote:Doesn't look like I'm watching a tournament team. I think we're in for a 2012 type year.NYCat wrote:They're playing like this at home, imagine Maui or at Alabama and UConn

Coleman reminds me more of Lyons than pjc

Can we go on a 10 pt. run just to have something to watch?

Jeter really likes showing off his thigh, specifically the right thigh

There's no way defensive rebounding is going to be a consistent problem for this team, is there?

Re: Game 1, vs Houston Baptist (2018-2019)
We're holding them to 25% from the field and 12% from 3 so far. I know it's Houston Baptist, but that makes me feel ok. Shooting poorly happens. BWill won't be 1-10 every game.
Re: Game 1, vs Houston Baptist (2018-2019)
Can Jeter jump or is he still injured?

Hack-a-Jeter is gonna be a standard Pac-12 temptation.

Not making excuses, but when the other team misses as many shots as they have, they'll pick up more offensive boards.Longhorned wrote:There's no way defensive rebounding is going to be a consistent problem for this team, is there?

Why is DD still behind Smith and Barcello? It doesn't take long to see he's a lot better. Is it because he's a freshman?

Re: Game 1, vs Houston Baptist (2018-2019)
He quietly played very well. I'd like to see him be a little more aggressive on the boards...especially on the defensive end with blocking out. But a nice solid workman's effort from him tonight.RichardCranium wrote:aqnybody nptice jeter has a double double
Re: Game 1, vs Houston Baptist (2018-2019)
Is Smith better defensively? I know he's good on the glass but I don't see much from him other than that. I haven't seen enough of DD to make a judgement on his defense.prh wrote:Defense gets minutesbillk78 wrote:Why is DD still behind Smith and Barcello? It doesn't take long to see he's a lot better. That has always been Millers way. DD certainly looks like he can play... if he improves on d in practice I'm sure we'll see moreprh wrote:Defense gets minutesbillk78 wrote:Why is DD still behind Smith and Barcello? It doesn't take long to see he's a lot better. Is it because he's a freshman?
