Turns out that wasn't a micrometeorite that hit the space station. Just some Russian dude's drunk drilling and patch job failing a few months later

It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:

Hey, isn't AURA the org that manages Kitt Peak?
Anybody been abducted by aliens or anything? Strange lights in the desert? White haired kids with weird eyes wandering around 4th Ave?

It is a weird scenario. As far as I've heard the other observatory right next to it like a half mile away is still open, but they just cleared out and closed the solar one. No idea what it could mean.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

Re: official science and technology thread
Also, we're beyond fucked if it's aliens and Trump will be there guy making first contact. The Vulcans would logically assume we're idiots and probably destroy us to put us out of our misery.

Unfortunately Trump had a bone spur flare up so he’s sending Ben Carson as his representative.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

New Mexico observatory closure stemmed from FBI child porn probe -documents
Sept 19 (Reuters) - The mysterious 11-day closure of a New Mexico solar observatory stemmed from an FBI investigation of a janitor suspected of using the facility’s wireless internet service to send and receive child pornography, federal court documents showed on Wednesday.
The National Solar Observatory in Sunspot, New Mexico, was evacuated without public explanation on Sept. 6, leading to a swirl of speculation and conspiracy theories on social media.
The riddle was finally explained in newly unsealed FBI records, including a 39-page application for a warrant to search the suspect’s residence.
The observatory reopened on Monday. (Reporting and writing by Steve Gorman in Los Angeles; Additional reporting by Joey Roulette in Orlando, Florida)

So the Soyuz launch with 2 astronauts to the space station was aborted today after a booster failure. Guys had to endure a 7 G ballistic re-entry and landed on a hillside. Miracle they survived.

Also, on Monday the Osiris-Rex probe which is primarily made and operated by the UA arrives at it's target asteroid. It will survey it, land and send back a sample of the asteroid o earth.

And with all this, within X decades or so there will be more plastic in Earth's ocean than fish. As a species are we not remarkably sublime and decadent?
