Depends on Vegas.
If the Cats go 12-6 or better and win one in Vegas they will be in the field of 68

Agree. i've been saying that for a month.

I don't buy the "go 12-6 and win a game or two in Vegas and we are in". The PAC12 stinks and our NET
ranking is NOT going to get us in. Not to mention the fact that the NCAA is going to use any excuse they can
not to invite University 4.

I have a very hard time believing that this team could/would win 3(possibly 4) games in as many nights in the pac12 tourney.
It depends on the match ups and whether certain players (The Brandon Boys) can start hitting perimeter shots between now and March.

if we get lucky Oregon & UW end up on the opposite side of the bracket from us.

In any event I believe that Winning the P12 tourney is a much more realistic path than finishing in the top 3 and winning 1 or 2 games in Vegas.

The Cats are in everyone's brackets now. Do you really think they all are expecting the Cats to go 18-0 or 17-1?

My god the loser talk is back in full force

This team is fine and Miller is fine for now. Stop crying over everything that doesnt go the Cats way. If our guys hit the free throws especially the front ends of one and ones and get one more fucking offensive rebound the Cats likely win dispite playing awful on offense. Cats were held to move than 20 points below their conference average. Some was due to Oregon some was due to missing free throws easy shots in the paint and open 3s. Defense has been awesome. Held every team in conference to under their scoring average and have three team's lowest offensive output in conference to date. Rebounding has been better but missed a few big ones last night. Tough shit it happens, or do we just blame shit that doesnt go our way in the NCAA tournament

Can they make the tournament? Sure. Pac is wide open. But do they have the talent to do it? Doesn't appear so.

At this point we just have to be realistic that this isn't a good team. There wasn't really a single guy last night who they could rely on for a big bucket. And the basketball IQ all around is seriously lacking. But hey, we kind of expected this right?

I said before this 5 game stretch that the cats needed to go at LEAST 3-2 to stay alive. 4-1 would be great. we are now 0-1 with OregonST, @UCLA, @USC, @ASSU remaining. Can we win 3 of those 4? Not with the way they played last night.

I was just thinking that this morning. 12-5 at this point with this team of no NBA lock players? I would definitely have taken that beginning of the season.

Heck, even more recently, if you'd told me at the beginning of Pac play that if we beat OSU, we're on pace for a 15-3 Pac record, I would have taken that in a heartbeat.

I think it is premature to determine what a good resume would be compared to others that will be on the bubble. According to bracket matrix as of yesterday, the last four in were:

Florida (Net 43, KenPom 23)
Temple (Net 46, KenPom 70)
Arizona State (Net 75, KenPom 62)
Washington (Net 40, KenPom 45)

And the First Four Out are...

Butler (Net 47, KenPom 39)
Saint Louis (Net 66, KenPom 87)
Alabama (Net 56, KenPom 59)
San Francisco (Net 48, KenPom 49)

Bubble is pretty weak.

Maybe Im losing my mind but it felt like Barcello provided the littlest of sparks off the bench against Oregon. Hit a nice 3...had some hustle plays. Im not saying he's a superstar, but maybe, just maybe, he can knock down a couple of 3s and give us some decent minutes?

13-27 from 3 tonight. 6-22 against Oregon.

There's the story of the weekend.

Also, games like tonight are why fans shouldn't quit on teams. It was fun watching us fight through the loss of Jeter and take down a decent team.

Boatright and Rakocevic...those are their weapons. Generally, their team is long and pretty athletic. They turned over UCLA 20 times! Some of that is just bad UCLA play, but still, forcing 20 TOs is impressive. They also made 16 TOs of their own, so they don't take care of the ball all that well. They're not a good FT shooting team (66%).

If Jeter is healthy, we should win a tight one.

I'll go with

AZ 76
USC 72

Both games are tossups. I would like a split. A sweep would be incredible. An ofer would be a huge hit to our tourney chances.

That would surprise me, especially if CJ is healthy for both games.

I can see us beating USC in a close one. Don't see that happening with UCLA. They always play their best games against us and this year will be no different.

We have to turn them over, both teams, but esp. Ucla. We need Coleman to channel his inner tj and Smith to get in those lanes. Jeter v Moses will be an interesting matchup.
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Thanks for the summary. Those are actually the 2 names that stuck out. Familiar with Porter, but he's suspended. Looks like Miller is 7-1 against Enfield with 1 loss coming in 4OT with all wins pretty much by double digits. Of course, that probably doesn't mean much to this team, given the circumstances.

Guess I'll prep myself for a a close one assuming Jeter is playing.

I feel better about the USC game than I do the UCLA one. Burt then again I felt better about Oregon than Oregon State and that didn't turn out as expected. Would love to get a sweep.

Im starting to think this season isn't as much about who our opponent is as much as it is about which Arizona team shows up that day.

I just see every game as a 50/50 proposition. There is no Pac team we can't beat if we play well. There is no Pac team we can't lose to if we play poorly.

Underrated stat, we are #19 nationally in AdjD on Kenpom. That is a great stat that gives us hope all the time.

That's the black n white way to look at it, sure. There are a few teams though that I think Az would have pretty much no chance against. None are on the **remaining schedule, thankfully.

Sounds like Jeter may be limited tonight. If that's the case, my worry is their bigs cause issues with foul trouble...which means shots absolutely have to fall. This was the saving grace in the OSU game.

Given the health issues this week, I'm now feeling less sanguine about tonight's and Saturday's games. It's not that these teams are very good; they're not. It's that winning on the road is always hard, and our team is down a player and probably feeling the grind a little. Both games should be very close. Could go 2-0 or 0-2. Neither outcome would surprise all that much.

I'm more concerned about the morale of the team. Their body language didn't look too good. They need to know how to respond when they are having a bad shooting night.
