Re: 2018 Los Angeles Rams
So it's the Saints. Going to be tough but do-able.
Don't see a shoot-out like the first time they played but Goff needs to take down a Hall-of-Famer at home with a chance to go to the Super Bowl. No easy chore.
The Rams probably won't be able to run it down their throats like they did against the Cowboys so the O-line and Goff will need to come up big.

Re: 2018 Los Angeles Rams
Getting pumped - hoping the Defense can play well because when the Saints get on a roll in that place it's tough to beat them.
AD - this game is where big time players so show their true metal.
Goff - they are going to bring the house at you today so let's see if you can make the plays and not turn it over.
O-line - open some holes for CJ and Gurley and we will be all right.
Peters & Talib - avoid the big plays and keep your collective mouths shut.

The wife scheduled a family outing in Chicago with her friends and their kids.
Husbands are required.
I have been a grumpy motherfucker for a week now.
Go Rams. Because if you lose, I might get divorced.

The way Goff got passes off with a defender hanging onto him reminded me briefly of this guy. You guys old enough to remember?

The call was the least of the Saints issues. Their terrible playcalling and time management is what killed them.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

Woah that was one of the worst missed calls I've seen in an NFL playoff game.
It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:

Re: 2018 Los Angeles Rams
wah wah wah...cry all you want Saints fans.
I've been on the losing end so many times with bad officiating it's about time I get a little payback. BTW, the Saints were penalized only 3 times for 20 yards the entire game (2 of those were obvious offsides calls).
The Saints were also extremely fortunate that particular pass and also the previous long pass to Ginn weren't intercepted.
I hope the media keeps it up saying the Rams didn't deserve it...just adds more fuel to the fire come Feb 3rd.

The NFL is just making up for letting the Patriots blatantly cheat the Rams out of a championship in ‘02.

Re: 2018 Los Angeles Rams
Rewatching the game now.
For one, the ball was a lot closer to Lewis than that sideline angle everyone is screencapping makes it seem. Robey-Coleman for sure hits him early, but it was a bang-bang play and the ball is well past them before Lewis hits the ground.
The sequence right before that throw was terrible though from the Saints.
They get the big play to Ginn right at the two minute warning. First down is a low throw that Thomas drops stopping the clock. With Kamara and Ingram at the thirteen yard line needing only a FG to win, why are you throwing?
Then N.O. has to take a timeout to avoid a delay of game. No big deal because the game clock is already stopped. Kamara rushes then the Rams call a timeout. At this point only 9 seconds had come off the clock.
Instead of running the ball and forcing the Rams to use their last timeout, the throw goes to Lewis and we get the non-call. The Saints kick the FG and the Rams get the ball with 1:41 left and then march down and tie the game up.
If the Saints run the ball three times, the Rams probably get the ball back with less than a minute and no timeouts left.
The no-call was awful. The playcalling was almost as bad.

Re: 2018 Los Angeles Rams
Chi - you are dead on. The Saints totally mismanaged that series after the big catch.
If you run the ball 3x not only do the Rams not get the ball back until there is maybe a minute remaining but they also will have no timeouts. Very hard to assume they would have ended up with a 47-yard FG try like they did.
Also, Robey said post-game the Ref told him the ball was tipped. Thought that was interesting even though he should have also been cited for helmet-to-helmet/defenseless receiver penalty as well.
Sure hope Wade tells his secondary they need to play the ball better. Joyner letting Ginn make that catch was a travesty and if Robey has his head up that play could have easily been a pick-6.

Re: 2018 Los Angeles Rams
Yep, I saw those two face masks. Also 2 blatant missed holding calls on the Saints and one very obvious one on Gurley.
But if anyone says shit to me about the missed P.I. I’m just going to run them through the terrible playcalling sequence I laid out above. Saints could have won and negated that call even needing to be made.
Feels like a lot of people annointed Brees and the Saints as the “deserving” team well before the game started and are now pissed it didn’t work out. Get TDs in the first quarter and run the ball in the fourth and no one gives a flying fuck who that Line Judge played for.

Finally, the Saints got the ball first and could have stuck it in the end zone a la Brady if they were so damn deserving.

Dante Fowler Jr. wrecked the Saints’ Super Bowl dreams. Fight me if you think otherwise.

Hopefully, it's just precautionary. Also, Countess a key secondary backup was out too.

Instead, can you dial up 30 touches for Gurley and a Super Bowl MVP?EastCoastCat wrote:Hopefully, it's just precautionary. Also, Countess a key secondary backup was out too.

I’ve been hearing a lot of talk about Brady and Belichick and not a whole lot about how McVay has been keeping his offensive MVP under wraps for two months. Gurley has only been on the field for 140 total snaps since Week 15 of the regular season. Prior to that he was around 65-70 plays per game.
Can’t wait to see what a well-rested Gurley can do with an extra week for McVay to figure out how to get him open in space.

I'm more worried about getting Gurley to be Gurley. We were able to survive without him against the Saints but need that weapon against the Pats.

There has been a bit of talk about 'why does everybody hate the Pats'. I dont hate the Pats, I just don't care about them one way or the other. I like to see Gronk do good, so I am more likely to be favoring the Pats most of the time.EastCoastCat wrote:Offensive line got pummeled. No running game and Goff was under pressure all night.

I dislike the Rams. I used to back them as my 2nd team (after perennially hopeless Lions). But gave that up when they moved to St. Louis. Now they moved back, I actively dislike them. The Raiders are the only other team that I dislike, and it is for the same reason. Disloyalityto their fan base.
The only team I actually hate is the Cowboys. And that is because of their hubris - 'America's Team' indeed -bullshit. (plus Texas).

Don't think it was Chicat who bet the Rams would score 3 points.
