98 Days Cody Moore - Director of Recruiting

Moore, 37, the newest member of the staff is the Senior Director of Recruiting and High School Relations. I'm surprised that Coach Sumlin reached out to someone he had never worked with for this position, but Moore looks like a high energy guy who is anxious to help build a program recruit by recruit. The Star had an article on Thursday about Moore and here is the elevator speech on why he got the job -
“When we started looking into him, we got mutual recommendations from people,” Polian (associate athletic director for football) said. “Then when you go through his background and you see that he’s essentially self-made; he’s coached, so he’s had to recruit; he’s GA’d (served as a graduate assistant), so he knows the workload, sacrifice and time you have to commit; and he has worked his way up at every level — we really liked that.”
Moore is well traveled and we hired him away from Georgia Tech. He does not have any local ties, so while he works on next year's class he will need to build relationships with Arizona high school coaches. Tip from the peanut gallery - Moore needs to get his bio up on the official site so when a coach, recruit, parent, or middle aged guy obsessed by Arizona football wants to find out about him Moore is the one telling the story.

98 is the yards rushing Bam (Darrius) Smith had last year on 23 carries to be our 4th leading rusher.

Little more detail from the GT site. No west coast connections for sure.

Boasting a dozen years of experience as a college football coach and recruiter, Cody Moore joined Georgia Tech football’s staff as an associate director of player personnel in 2017.

Moore came to The Flats after three seasons as defensive line coach at Abilene Christian. At ACU, he helped lead the program through its transition from NCAA Division II to NCAA Division I FCS and assisted in the efforts that saw the Wildcats land the nation’s No. 9-ranked FCS recruiting class in 2016.

Prior to his three-season stint at Abilene Christian, Moore was the assistant recruiting coordinator at Arkansas, where he helped the Razorbacks bring in a recruiting class ranked among the nation’s top 30 in 2014. His career also includes stints at Central Arkansas (interior defensive line coach/recruiting coordinator — 2010-12), Texas A&M (defensive quality control — 2009), Auburn (defensive administrative assistant– 2007-08) and Hardin-Simmons (defensive graduate assistant — 2005-06).

In addition to his prowess as a recruiter, Moore’s career highlights also include helping lead Central Arkansas to the second round of the FCS playoffs in 2011 and 2012, working with Texas A&M’s Von Miller, who led FBS with 17.5 sacks in 2009, and assisting with an Auburn defensive unit that ranked sixth in the nation in total defense in 2007.

Prior to beginning his professional career, Moore was a four-year football letterwinner, team captain and all-conference performer at Oklahoma Panhandle State (2001-04). He earned a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from Oklahoma Panhandle State in 2004 and a master’s in sports and recreation management from Hardin-Simmons in 2007.

Moore and his wife, Kristen, have three children: two daughters, Bentley and Avery, and a son, Cooper.
