Recap of changes to 2019 roster heading into 2020:

Brandon Randolph decided he was ready for whatever the heck is next for him and left.

Terry Armstrong was told about grade issues, passive-aggressively pulled items identifying him as an Arizona commit off his social media, courted other teams, did everything but take care of the grade issues, other teams noticed "Hey! Grade issues!", and it looks like he is off to T-Ferg land

Alex Barcello just announced his intent to transfer today, through social media.

Brandon Williams may or may not have career-threatening health issues, and everyone is expecting to hear in July, but it doesn't look great.

Devonaire Doutrive never actually left, y'all.

I assume, since he never left, you just deal with it like a coach deals with it.

If it is something that warrants being kicked off the team, then that happens. If he is just a jerk? Those happen...it is up to the coaches and floor leadership to reign that in.

But since he never actually left, I guess (fuck if I know anymore...I didn't bring an official scorecard), he is on the team and you deal accordingly.

Not really. BWill is light years stronger than any other option. Losing him would be a huge blow. It doesn't matter who steps in. No realistic option is close to what he brings.

Romar-ed refers to an old practice Romar use to do when he was the head man at UW, where he would take a player's scholarship away.

From what I understand on Barcello this was a similar situation as Ruben Douglas. Folks wanted him to transfer for more playing time and that won out.
But Romar'd is also a knowingly inaccurate term, since Romar didn't invent the practice and was never its most prolific practitioner. One day in 2005, a poster on Goazcats mistakenly thought Romar went rogue in finding roster space, somebody else believed him, and a term was born.

It's one of those rare internet usages that will never stop being funny.

Two damn hours ago I was hoping Puff reclassified and our roster could finally be set. Now I'm hoping he doesn't and we can hold onto him until 2020. We really need more players with that kind of shooting.

Of course, he could still reclassify assuming BWill is done, but I don't think I will ever accept that possibility until it happens. Maybe not even then.
Hell, I was in the front row of the student section when Ray went down. I still don't think I've accepted that that really happened.

The Doutrive scenario is so interesting, the relationship was so damn damaged, and 97cats provided numerous reasons why on our end. Doutrive must have made some major concessions i.e. quit the bitching, listen to what Miller says, take to coaching, and in turn Miller must've promised a role. Certainly will be interesting how this plays out.

Yeah that's definitely the vibe I get...should be interesting to see if he actually lives out those concessions. I think he can be a phenomenal player if he does. I'm sure Miller won't hesitate to cut bait if he doesn't turn things around. All-in-all though, I am very happy that he is coming back, and think him returning is better than Woolridge or basically any other grad transfer wing we could have gotten at this point.

Here's my hope with DD and team chemistry: We've got a collection of guys this season that are either pros in the making (with the type of work ethic required to make that happen; e.g. Nico, Josh, Zeke... even Jamarl and Jordan) or are final-year veterans (e.g. Max, Chase, Stone).

There's no room for negative energy on this roster. These players are either too good or too old to put up with the bullshit. Hoping that the environment is more focused and less tolerant of losses and of the attitude that causes losses.

My thoughts exactly - his flashes last year were damn exciting. And let's not forget these are 18yr old kids after all..sometimes a kick in the ass can do wonders from a maturity standpoint.

They're really nothing alike. BWill is a scoring point guard. Puff is a 6'7 wing shooter.

BWill is much better for our lineup. Puff is basically a similar player to Green, Smith and Doutrive.

Agree of the passing.

BWill was the only guy on the roster capable of making/seeing passes available in tight quarters while attacking. Coleman could hit the corner shooters, but BWill was able to attack and dish through the defense to a cutter or roller in traffic.
