I know it’s NAU but I’m loving the effort and skill here. A lot more confidence in the first half vs our exh against Chico.

Koloko has about the longest arms I have seen on an UA player.

The Cats played the best half they could possibly play.

I love the pace of play this team is playing with. It's amazing what a real pg can do.
I am very excited about this season.

Big fan and was worried that the team would play at a slower pace if Nico didn't get going early. Love seeing Josh push it as well - clearly has the green light to go coast to coast off the rebound or rip.Alieberman wrote:I love the pace of play this team is playing with. I’m surprised they aren’t getting in trouble for disobeying Miller’s board-proven strategy of slowing the game down. /sYoDeFoe wrote:Big fan and was worried that the team would play at a slower pace if Nico didn't get going early. Hear me out . . . Baker has a lot of Chris Mills in him. And not just the Kentucky connection. That baseline pull-up, two handed shot, etc.

Really nice to have multiple guys who can handle the ball so we can play Nico off ball some, get him a break, and offer some additional wrinkles to the offense.

This is so much more encouraging than Chico, and you can still see the room to grow. I'm really excited to see this team grow.
Re: (M) Game 1, Arizona vs NAU (2019-2020)
Who is Miller going to sit once PAC12 play begins??? (we haven't even seen Doutrive yet)
I can't believe Miller is going to go 10+ deep all season.

Baker / Hazzard / Gettings is such a higher second unit floor than we've had in a looooong time

The Cats are loaded. Gettings is a good player and hasn't seen the floor much. Imagine when DD returns.

Gettings can shoot. Hazzard needs to ease off the trigger a little. These refs call anything close to contact.
Just random thoughts.

Hope we see more Koloko as the season goes on. Jeter doesn't add much besides taking charges.

Re: (M) Game 1, Arizona vs NAU (2019-2020)
Jeter is efficient in the post and rebounds well... my main concern with him is that he slows the offense down once he receives it in the post. Totally fine from time to time but playing through him was a concern of mine from the Chico St game and I'm glad to see us playing with more fluidity and pace.TatetheGreat wrote:Hope we see more Koloko as the season goes on. I wondered about this earlier in the offseason - he's got the offensive game, the question is staying in front of the defense.

Good Josh got a 3 to drop. That's the question mark in his game.

Speaking of Randolph the basketball IQ of this team is significantly higher than last years bunch.az91 wrote:Does anyone miss Brandon Randolph?

So great to finally have a point guard
Re: (M) Game 1, Arizona vs NAU (2019-2020)
Lots of options. We may have very different lineups depending on matchups and opponents. What works vs. Oregon may not work vs. UW. But Miller has options, which is awesome. Getting a might get 6 minutes against Oregon and play 25 against the UW zone.

Re: (M) Game 1, Arizona vs NAU (2019-2020)
I'm very enthusiastic right now. Everything looks fairly promising.
I know it's NAU, but Nico and Green are passing it around, Koloko is throwing it down and Nnaji is lights out...and that's only our freshmen.
