Can't remember if it was under Stoops or Mackovic, but the football program was draining so much money the basketball program had to support them along with all the other non-revenue sports. Lute was quite upset.

Now it will get even worse.

Didn't one of the in the know guys say this hire was to keep Gunnell from transferring? But like Choo said, he never hire your coach to fit your QB.

There are probably 100 FCS teams that would be glad to come to Tucson to get paid to lose, after the hits their ADs took on this.

I think the basketball program pays $85K to weaker schools to come in, so football must pay $200K? Cal Poly and the rest of these schools with no season are probably calling up Heeke right now and trying to get in.

Yep. Maybe we'll snatch a win from NAU. But that's definitely not guaranteed.
