Death by inches.
We are not handling their length well, especially Akinjo/Baker

Every time I pick akinjo he has a rotten night.
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Guards played like trash. Cannot handle players bigger than them.

Surprised Mathurin is sitting so much.
He and AZ are only ones who seem to score

Brown. I always get that wrong for some reason.

Baker, Akinjo, Terry 2 combined baskets. Along with no defense.

No excuses tonight, the more talented team won........period.
This game is similar to the Stanford game where Akinjo could not handle the 6-5" freshman that was guarding him.

Without him we would have been massacred tonight
On a positive note it looks like a very good year to self sanction

And I picked all 3. I think I might have the worst score in the history of RAP.

Who'd have thought all our scoring would come from inside? Crazy, against one of the tallest teams in the pac.

Reality check tonight. Was bound to happen sooner or later. We’re a solid team with a ton of potential, but we’re not quite ready for prime time.

Ucla has some tall guards as well, tyger campbell is short but that's it. Mick cronin plays defense also

We also have issues. We have height issues with the primary ballhandlers, and Baker has never been a stellar on the ball defender due to limited lateral mobility.Beachcat97 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 9:19 pm Reality check tonight. Akinjo needs to shoot less against the bigger teams (and stop trying to go to the rack against 7 foot guys with 7-4 wingspans). We also need to be more patient against the USC/Stanfords of the world and run screen after screen until we can get wide open looks for our guards. When the other guy has superior athletes you have to play smarter than they do.

SC shot the ball lights out - 58% FG and 57% from 3.
And a lot were tough shots. Giving them credit for the win.

Even though we lost, it was great to see The potential of Tubelis realized.

Seemed like when Akinjo would go inside their entire front court was there, not just one guy.
