Brown is a 6-3, 255, Junior defensive end/tackle from Long Beach, CA. After a slow start as a Freshman (played in 4 games with no stats), Brown became an essential part of the defense last year playing in every game and starting 8. Along with Schooler he led the team with 3.5 sacks and had 30 tackles with 7.5 for a loss. Brown became a bigger force as the year progressed starting the final 6 games.
Although he played exclusively at D-end last year (and is still listed as one on his official bio), Brown has been practicing at D-tackle this year. He is seen as a speed man on the inside and will help to offset the loss of our 2 starting tackles from last year. Brown may still have some packages where he moves back to end, but expect to see him primarily inside unless one of the other new guys really steps up.
