Current snowcover across the US as of this morning. Not sure I've seen that much snow that far south before.

Got another foot of snow last night and supposed to get 6-12 more inches tonight.

I feel so bad for those people. My area is equipped to deal with ice and snow. If yours isn’t, it’s paralyzing and so dangerous.

Yea really. I can't even imagine how bad it would be here if we had that level of severe weather. Sure we get a dusting of snow maybe once a year or so around town. But nothing like the black ice and debilitating amounts of snow elsewhere that can just crush infrastructure and transportation.

Yeah if Tucson suddenly had like 4-5 days straight of sub freezing temps along with even like 4-5 inches of snow that actually stuck on the roads and ground, the city would be completely incapacitated for a couple days.

The furnace actually doesn’t run constantly. We have pretty energy efficient windows and doors up here.

We are on Day 12 of snow. By far the longest stretch I've ever seen. Not sticking too bad right now, and supposedly tomorrow and Saturday we'll actually see some sunshine before we get another shot of snow on Sunday.

I have a big gap under the front door in the townhouse place I live now and whenever the wind comes from the west I get a super loud stereotypical whistling wind sound in my living room. Like occasionally loud enough to drown out the tv.

Spring is always the worst for severe weather and this storm looks like a monster. They’re talking about 50 mph sustained winds with hurricane force gusts up here in Northwest Indiana so I cannot even imagine the type of energy this bitch is going to put out as it pulls in the gulf warmth and moisture down south.

I wonder what the preachers who say that when something bad happens to CA or NY, it's God punishing liberals say when a natural disaster happens in a red state.

The Bible Belt sure seems to get more national disasters than blue states. OK has more than any other state due to tornadoes and fracking earthquakes.

Last summer my daughter in coastal NC said that they had a hurricane, a tornado, and an earthquake all in the space of about a week.

We are in a La Niña so the Southwest gets warmer & drier winters, but there isn’t much change to the summer monsoons historically.
