West Virginia is acting like no one has ever figured out the soft spots in Boeheim’s 2-3 zone.

Boeheim has to be the most overrated coach in NCAA history.

Beavis started out cold but pulling it together, looking pretty good.
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Where did this Oregon State come from?
Did they gain super powers after their Covid outbreak?

Beavers putting on a show right now. Wow.

Re: Tourney Thread
I think what we are seeing is that the defense in the PAC was a lot better then we knew. Now OSU might get run out of the gym in the second half but they are hitting guys in the mouth and not backing down. 5 teams sweet 16.......that needs to be our mantra. If that happened it would be talk of the media and tournament.

Re: Tourney Thread
It will be the talk of media tomorrow, especially since so many big 10, big 12, and acc teams are gone. The highest rated major conferences are performing the worst.

Re: Tourney Thread
I just realized that Oregon St. is the team that benefited from Arizona self-sanctioning in the PAC-12 tournament.
They would have been the 6 seed, Arizona the 5 seed. But since Arizona was out, they moved up to the 5 seed and with only 11 teams left that meant they got the same bye in the first round that the first four teams did.
That meant they only had to win 3 games instead of the 4 a typical 5 - 12 seed would have had to win and make the NCAA tourney.

Well they also benefited from us self sanctioning because they didn't have to play us in the pac 12 tournament

Incredible win by Oregon State
Re: Tourney Thread
If these announcers knew what the Pac 12 was like, they wouldn't be shocked by the Beavers making all these free throws. We get lots of practice in our conference.

Yeah, it's rich that they're talking about how there have been too many fouls called in this game. Hilarious.

This is the Beavers' first sweet 16 since 1982 and only their 2nd tournament appearance since 1990. This is already the best season they've had since before Lute was at Arizona.

Re: Tourney Thread
Is this tournament proof that even the players hated Larry Scott?
Re: Tourney Thread
Great game by the Beavers. Kept the faith when it looked like they were a step from the abyss. Know what will really piss you off. Go look at the NCAA site and they have the Beavers stats under the Ok ST side since the game began. FN NCAA can't even keep the score right on their own site. MF'rs.
Re: Tourney Thread
Beavs might make it to the Elite 8. Loyola is their next game.
