There's obviously still a bit to go, but KY is pretty thin in the backcourt right now. If Davion Mintz doesn't return, they basically have two guys.BeardownZonaZona wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 11:55 amI believe Kentucky already has Hickman, another 5 star pg, and Kansas brought in a really transfer pg or two, plus another guy or two on their roster can play the point. It’s Arizona, Kansas, or Kentucky.

Kansas is a little deeper, but not with the kind of talent that means Tyty would automatically sit. He would project to a decent role all 3 places, atleast right now, although Arizona has the largest chance for him to be the backcourt leader instead of just a rotation guy, for better or worse.

Apparently better chance he comes back now that Akinjo is gone, even if it's small.Beachcat97 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 11:58 am Anyone heard anything about Terry? There's a rumor going around.
And he knows Tyty since the 2nd grade, so it wouldn't hurt.

UK has numerous PG options and probably will have a couple more not named Tyty before the month is up.Spaceman Spiff wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 12:04 pmThere's obviously still a bit to go, but KY is pretty thin in the backcourt right now. Any feeling on Mathurin one way or the other? I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that his decision will greatly impact next season's prospects.

Re: The 2021-2022 Season Thread
Kansas could use TyTy and they have the room to add him - they've got two roster spots open, maybe more depending on Ochai Agbaji's draft feedback. No proven point guard on the roster but two 4-star recruits who would like to play point for them and an incoming transfer who was the back-up point guard at Drake. Maybe my bias showing, but I think their roster looks super sketchy - they're losing the majority of their talent to the draft and transfers, they return only 3 or 4 players, and they're having trouble filling out the roster (losing on the transfer and recruiting market). I would assume the forthcoming sanctions are scaring off recruits as well since KU has taken none of that risk off the table.
Kentucky just had major turnover in their assistant coaching ranks, losing two of their three and picking up some new ones from Illinois. Their roster is going to see some flux as a result, likely losing Brooks and maybe others. They already have incoming top-50 freshman PG Nolan Hickman coming in along with grad transfer scoring PG Kellan Grady, so there's some ball handling competition straight out of the gate there.
If it's between us three, I like Arizona as the landing spot. We have the clear opportunity for him to step into Akinjo's role, we're in his backyard, and he's got an existing relationship with our coaches and players. Minimal roster flux remaining (Lord willing) and he can look at Jalen Suggs as an example of what Lloyd will do with him as a young lead guard.

I worry more about the NBA than I do a transfer with Benn. Re: The 2021-2022 Season Thread
Akinjo repeatedly accused him of having two first names. When Jemarl Baker was here, that deflected some of the pressure from Dalen, but with Baker gone, it all fell on Terry's shoulders.
Ultimately, Akinjo transferred because he couldn't stomach an adult named Tommy. Akinjo's a very good player, but oddly fixated on names. Baylor had to conceal the fact their coach is named Scott Drew in order to land him.

Lol there was nothing personal with any guy and Akinjo. They all got along with the guy, but needless to say his style of play is a bit hard to get along with. Akinjo leaving is a plus in regards to keeping this roster together if we’re being honest.

Oh well, maybe it will come out next week that Kerr Kriisa was down to Arizona and Kansas State until he realized KSU's Student Union didn't have a Papa Johns, thus his decision to return. If that one pays off, I'll be fully redeemed.

Keep Nowell
Keep Dalen
Keep Koloko
Keep Brown
Tier 3
Add a sharp shooter (if everything above happens...we would need to lose one of: Aiken, Gorener, Dezonie)

He's going to look so good in a Tommy Lloyd offense with his off ball movement and shooting ability. Finishing school before turning pro.

Host it on an image hosting site like imgur.com and get the direct link to the picture. Put that between the [/img][img] tags. Make sure it ends in .gif (as opposed to .gifv).

So Oregon got Harmon from the transfer portal... We're the only school Tyty is looking at that really needs a point guard. We gotta be liking our chances right?

Yes he’s back. I wouldn’t expect any more transfer outs. The only questions are what we do with the final two scholarships (One is 100% going to our next starting PG) and what we do with the two incoming freshmen.

It makes slightly more sense in every way for him to choose Arizona, but most especially because I can never understand why anyone wouldn't choose Arizona.

Mike Luke said it on Twitter then Scheer somewhat confirmed it on TOS. He did say a couple weeks ago I think that he wanted to go on a couple unofficial visits to some schools but we're the only one I've seen. He wants to announce by the end of the month. Very good sign if he did check the campus out, because he's already been on campus a couple times the past year or so. He's already seen everything so it's good he's going againBeachcat97 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 24, 2021 9:23 amConfirmed?
