I’ve never seen more national guys calling out poor officiating in my life. We smash Tennessee by double digits any other game. Not worried in the slightest about anything that occurred last night outside of the first 4-5 minutes. Those slow starts gotta be fixed though.
I’m going to have to think about the last time I saw an Arizona starting 5 on fouls go 4, 4, 5, 5, 5 in regulation.
I might be thinking for a while.
But good to go all the way across the country against a top 25 team to learn those lessons. Valuable in the end for sure.

Games don’t get reffed like that in the tourney. Thank God.

Don’t you guys have Christmas shopping to do?
Yes, but there's a full day before I give up hope and just email online gift cards like I do every year.
Until sometime in the 1970s, on Christmas Eve men used to go bars inside department stores and sit there and get sloshed while sales women modeled clothes and brought out kids toys and samples of everything. The men would drunkenly point at whatever they wanted, and the girls wrapped everything up with for them and put it on their tab. An employee would wheel it all out to their cars, and they'd drive home swerving all over the road, usually making it. At midnight, their wives would carry it all out from the car and put it under the tree while the man and the kids slept.
I'm much more efficient and recognize the evil of drunk driving.
Apologies if this is too graphic, but come tomorrow night around 6:30 PM, I'll likely discuss pick and roll drop coverage with my wife, then begin and complete my Christmas shopping via online gift cards in time to watch a movie at 7 before bed.

Intimate between 6:30 and 7? You planning on doing it three times?
I guess Christmas is the season of miracles so Good Luck and Godspeed.

No. But I’d actually take it if they were because Jayson Williams would be fouled out of the NC game about 13 min in and we’d have a second natty.

Probably too early to know, but if UCLA can't play, will the game be re-scheduled? Is it a forfeit victory for us? Does UCLA get kicked out of the NCAA?
In the event a team is unable to begin or complete a regular season Conference contest because of the unavailability of participants due to COVID-19, the Conference shall reschedule the contest, while being mindful of student-athlete health and safety considerations. If the contest cannot be rescheduled, the contest may be considered a “no contest” upon review and approval by the Commissioner. The Conference office shall have the option to levy a forfeit in the event league standards of sportsmanship are not met in the process of attempting to reschedule a contest.

Unless you are playing Duke and their best player dry humps one of your players…

Thanks, greg.
I gotta think that with this (potentially) happening so early in the season, there *should* be a way to re-schedule the game. A forfeit situation would be more likely with a game unable to take place in late Feb/early March.

Did we get an explication on the Tech?
Combined with whatever Kier did when Powell was shooting, I wonder if ref believed Kerr was trying to mess with the shooter in some “illegal” way?

Yeah that free throw attempt was weird. Can’t remember seeing a shooter stop in mid stroke, pause, then rush the shot.
The T was total BS for sure.
The announcers were saying Kier said something as the guy was shooting.

What like “hey batter, hey batter batter….swing!”
How about the ASU curtain of distraction? Shouldn't that be a T on the fans?

There are games planned for every week between now the tourney. The best move would be to move up a game with ASU or schedule one game during the first ASU week and the second game during the second ASU week. That would mean one extra trip to LA and additional cost. Does UCLA and USC have to pony up that extra cost?

Next week the Washington schools only have a game between each other. We can play them instead of the LA schools.
Oh well. I was set to see the USC game next weekend. Hopefully it gets rescheduled on a day I can attend. Otherwise, I'll have three tickets I can't use.
So no games until ASSU? We should move that game and the Washington game up to the week of the LA trip. The ASSU game should be a no brainer to move

At least the women are a go for Friday, so we still get basketball.
“The reality is that the hardest games to win are over teams on their home court. Teams that don’t play those games can spin it however they want, but what they’re saying is, ‘We don’t want to lose in our non conference season.’" - Sean Miller
USC at 7 is a little silly, imo. Who have they beaten? Mighty San Diego State? Mighty UC Irvine? Georgia freaking Tech? By comparison, Iowa State is ranked 8th but already has wins against Memphis and Xavier.
They've won all of their games against the 54th toughest schedule. AZ has the 4th hardest, UCLA is 10th, ASU is 27th, Oregon 39th.
The Trojans are a solid team, and I do think they'll finish in the top 4 of the Pac. I just don't see anything in their resume to warrant being ranked 7th in the country.
The CDC just cut the Covid quarantine/isolation recommendations in half. It appears that they are reacting to the reality of Omicron. This should help out with the NCAA Covid issues. Hopefully, the NCAA & PAC12 move quickly to update their Covid protocols,
I have to wonder if this could immediately affect the UCLA/USC games........I have to believe the new 5 day rule would make the UCLA players/coaches currently affected eligible.
