There's no better window into where Arizona football is then the fact someone can say we had a 1-11 season that included a home loss to a sub .500 FCS team in the same breath as saying the season wasn't a disaster...and it doesn't come off like satire.

I think I'm more bummed about the results from this season actually potentially not being disastrous than I am about the results from this season.
If it had come out of the blue, it would certainly a disaster but we really just lost a couple more games than was expected.
Oh, I'm not talking trash and I don't even necessarily disagree.

It's just a sad commentary that the program is in the state where the on field results this year aren't necessarily disastrous.

I really hate when they have loud music in highlight videos. I just end up turning the sound off.

OK BOOMER!

Is it just a replay of the Cal game?

You could just show the plays where a qb wasn’t injured.

They forgot the traditional best moment, when the season ends.

Arizona
Record: 1-11/1-8
Grade: D
Comment: It was not a good season. The Wildcats lost to every opponent they faced that wasn’t decimated by COVID (so, 11 of them). But let’s keep in mind that it wasn’t supposed to be a good season. And it probably won’t be a good season in 2022, either. Our non-F grade is based on two factors: The Wildcats never quit on Jedd Fisch and, in fact, got better as the season progressed; and they were extremely limited at quarterback — to an even greater degree than expected because of the injuries. Is Fisch the right coach to lead a turnaround? It’s too early to know, but the needle is pointing slightly in his favor.

This is 100% fair.

No argument from me.

Figured it was Wilner, who actually seems fair to the UA for once.

Dead on balls accurate (it's an industry term).

A fair goal for next year should be to try and at least raise that to a C-.

Yeah that's a good assessment. But with the recruiting I do expect us to win more next year for Fisch to prove he can coach, even with our absolutely brutal schedule that does us no favors. There's 0 games on our schedule we should be favored in, including North Dakota State. But even winning 3 games next year and getting another decent class for 2023 would give me hope
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

i'll just go with fuck asu.

Mentioned it in another thread, but I think the Vegas O/U will be 2.5. So 3 wins would be a success.

And like has been said, Stoops had 3 wins 2 seasons in a row and was lauded for it.

It all depends for me.

If we played mostly freshmen and won 2 games and lost 4-5 others by less than a TD, I'd give that a solid B. You expect growing pains, and I would understand a young team losing at the gun a few times.

The big issue this year was the one lock was NAU and we lost that. There aren't any locks next year, so the gauge is more being competitive with teams close to our level and converting a few into W's. Then, you hope to develop players until they're juniors and they convert those close losses into wins.

Well we can watch NDST Saturday play for the FCS championship where they are a TD+ favorite.

Nothing and I mean nothing comes easy for Arizona football
