i dont think so - if things continue to fall as they have all season, i believe Arizona will be slotted #1 seed in the East or South Region with Duke opposite as the #2
East #1 is locked up like the West imo by Auburn or Kentucky. It'd end up Auburn and Duke imo (for example)

I think it's in between Midwest and South if Arizona gets a #1 seed. For the record the S16/E8 round venues are San Antonio (likely South), San Francisco (likely West), Philadelphia (Likely East), Chicago (likely Midwest [Illinois memories plz no])

Some 1st/2nd Rd venues Arizona could get are Portland (obviously Zags locked in there), San Diego, or Ft Worth. Most likely San Diego. Since Arizona has pretty high metrics and Arizona ends up with no more than 2 loses I'd think they get the favorable spot of playing closer to home in San Antonio.

as of today and things can change

south = Auburn or Kentucky (both will not be #1 seeds)
east = open unless committee jumps Duke into that slot (very possible)

Another sidenote on Duke: their remaining reg season schedule is much easier than for all these teams: AZ, Auburn, Kentucky, Purdue and Kansas. Chalk it up to the ACC being weaker than usual.

Arizona has been top 3 in all the metrics they use, almost the whole season. Hard to see them getting the last #1 seed if it continues enough to get a #1 seed.

The most likely scenario is a Purdue get sent out as the #1 seed East - Arizona gets #1 South, Auburn gets #1 Midwest or swap Arizona/Auburn.

I really doubt Arizona will get shipped out to Philadelphia. I really doubt that. It's between San Antonio and Chicago imo. Which means South or Midwest.

With the pod system isn't it possible now to play the first two games out west despite being in the East/South/Midwest?

Amazing. Could be the first time I've had a chance to watch them in a tourney game a few miles from home.

For my own selfish purposes I want to see Zags in the West and Cats in the Midwest. And I can definitely see the committee trying to get an Elite 8 rematch at the United Center between us and Illinois.

Didn't we already do that in December?!

Kidding. Even though the prospect of that match-up would not be good for my anxiety, I'm completely with you on the exorcism point. While the stakes weren't as high, I consider our pummeling of Duke in the '11 tournament a revenge win for '01.

I don’t want Duke as a 2 if we are the 1. Not cause I don’t think we can beat them, but K’s final tourney and playing against them would probably be 8 on 5.

I don’t know if I’m ready for that kind of pressure.

the list of those Arizona can expect to navigate through the NCAA Tournament this season to get to the final four and win it all:

* Duke
* Illinois
* Tennessee
* Wyoming
* Gonzaga

the LA road trip this year will consist now of six games in ten days to accommodate make-ups at UCLA & USC - think about that?

not to mention, another three gamer in five days tonight, at least the team was in Tucson.

not to mention, the big F*CK YOU again delivered happens the week leading up to the Pac12 Tournament.

i dont complain about the conf or scheduling at all if ever, but boy thats a zero lube broom handle up the preverbal Arizona ass.

So remaining schedule

Feb 7 Mon @ Asu
Feb 10 Thurs @ Wazzu
Feb 12 Sat @ Udub
Feb 17 Thurs vs Or St
Feb 19 Sat vs Oregon
Feb 24 Thurs @ Utah
Feb 26 Sat @ Colorado
March 1 Tues @ USC
March 3 Thurs vs Stanford
March 5 Sat vs Cal
March 10 PAC 12 tournament starts

It's terrible but I don't where else you can fit the game. Only other possibility is Feb 14th or Feb 15th. Either way it's going to be a 3 game road trip.

It would've been terrible to get like 3 straight weeks of 3 games a week, that would've been worse imo. This way we get a couple of weeks of normal Thurs/Sat games.

Unfortunately their UCLA week with only 1 game we play the Washington road series. Also the last week is only filled with UCLA game but we have the NorCal schools.

Do you all realize that the time expanse between that game and this year's tourney is as long as the time expanse between when you were born and when you headed off to your freshman year at the U of A?

As with the day you were born, feel free to not remember that game even happening.

How would you want that game end? A Mathurin alley-oop from Terry as time expires to win by one of a Kerr Kriisa three pointer from the logo?

i dont think so - if things continue to fall as they have all season, i believe Arizona will be slotted #1 seed in the East or South Region with Duke opposite as the #2
I’d LOVE to send K into retirement!!!!
How would you want that game end? A Mathurin alley-oop from Terry as time expires to win by one of a Ker Kriisa three pointer from the logo?
I’d want to be up double digits all game. Up 25 at half. Just to watch him freak out and cry.
Last time we were up 22 there in the second half we lost. Sorry was thinking about ASU not Duke.

I'm shocked they don't have us fly out of Boulder late at night and play USC at noon the next day

But then you’d be forced to listen to the announcers slob K’s knob for an hour to fill the dead air of a blowout. I’d rather we take his soul right at the end. Fuck whatever tribute they have planned.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

A bunch of scrub teams in there tough. Arizona has to blowout the scrubs from the start and get them out of there quickly don't let the starters play a ton of mins.

The last game vs Cal, honestly the starters shouldn't even play.
