Kinda want the make a bunch of ESPN (and such like) chuckleheads run up and down Pikes Peak a few times. . .pc in NM wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 7:54 pmIn my experience, a first game at elevation isn’t that hard for a conditioned athlete - but the second can be, especially if there is an active practice in between…dovecanyoncat wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 7:52 pm I had my trailer at an 8500 ft. camp once. Refs or not, these Cats did not come to play.
Re: (M) Game 28, Arizona at Colorado (2021-2022)
Colorado wanted it more, plain & simple'
Mix that in with too many TO's and piss poor rebounding on the defensive end and its a toxic mixture.
The SC game becomes a must win if we want to stay on the 1 line going into the P12 tourney.

Looked like a heartless, gutless bunch tonight. A loss on Tuesday pretty much throws a 1 seed away.

This game is over. Pull the starters and start preparation for USC…

Feels like this is on me.
I was too full of us.

Yep. We can blame the refs, the altitude, or whatever excuse you want, but the team was going through the motions tonight and that won’t cut it. Bad effort.

Throw this game out. The Cats didn't have the necessary energy, I believe because of the elevation. The game plan should have been to get the ball into the paint, with limited 3s.

CTL was asked about effect of elevation during news conference this week - said he didn’t believe in it at all….

Oh my
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

I did a contract atop Mt. Lemmon. C'mon up there and run a clinic on fast breaks, Tommy. It'll knock your dick in the dirt.

Re: (M) Game 28, Arizona at Colorado (2021-2022)
Yeah. I think most ref complaining is misunderstood. We're not complaining bc we think it affected the outcome of the game. We're complaining bc it is painful to have to watch incompetence. The NFL has become a prime example.
As for the game, Colorado kicked our asses. Time to move on.
It's pretty clear Tennessee put the blueprint out there. Turn it into a rugby scrum. If the refs allow it then we're beatable. I thought Oregon used this same script. Need to adjust bc the tournament is going to be physical.
Still like the team and our chances.
Re: (M) Game 28, Arizona at Colorado (2021-2022)
we had way too much fun dunking on Utah on Thursday and Lloyd needlessly rep the starters in the game way too long. Oh well this should be an eye opener for all. They just got their asses kicked but the refs didn't help. Fucking ASU riding on our coat tails never gets anybody's best shot.

Shouldn't say that yet, Kansas has 40 sec to erase 10 points. And Gonzaga plays tonight

3-6 also lost to ranked opponents, or teams just outside the top 25. Cats got blown out by a bad unranked team.

Re: (M) Game 28, Arizona at Colorado (2021-2022)
Not at all surprised by this game. Firstly, I think this is an extremely good team and I love CTL. He's done an amazing job and deserves a lot of credit along with Sean Miller for leaving the cupboard full. However as much as I love this team I get the feeling they won't get far in the NCAA tournament. Turnovers and lack of tournament experience are two reasons. Also the lack of a true PG. Still IMHO we have the right type of players and talent to possibly make a deep run but as a U of A fan I've grown used to the March letdowns and I'm sort of expecting the same this year. We always seem to run into the East Tennessee States, Santa Clara's, and Buffaloes of the college basketball world. And ever since the Illinois loss in 05 It feels like we've been cursed. I want to see this team go as far as they can and I do believe they're a legitimate Final Four and even NC caliber team. Tonight was just an anomaly IMO and I believe we'll come back and win out the rest of the regular season. Beyond that is anyone's guess with U of A basketball. Just so unpredictable in tournament play historically. I really thought 2017 was one of our best teams ever only to be reminded why the NCAA tournament is so heartbreaking. The Murray State's of the college basketball world may remind us yet again this season. We shall see.
