Looks like Batty was seeking out Kerr for a post-game handshake - that's pretty classy!!!

That was pretty cool to see Battey chase down Kerr and give him some warm regards.

His commitment to not being at all in any kind of basketball shape other than “old dude at the Y who can still nail jumpers” makes him my hero.
You earned your dozen donuts tonight Battey.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

I completely forgot he had a stroke. That's pretty amazing to recover enough to be able to play again.

They (Colorado)set a program record for made 3s? Did I hear that right?
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

We’d better focus on 3pt defense if we expect to advance in the NCAAs. Ouch!

In the postgame Kier said on air he was going to get shit from CTL in the locker room for that 10 count.
It was funny, he almost did it a couple of times before that.

Keir was our second high scorer tonight. But it was the wizard of Zu that brought the magic. A man of few words.

Benn and C-Lo had rough nights.
And that’s what is so great about this team. Others just step up.

UA making 24 of 25 free throws has to be a tourney record too?

Not that I care what Whiny Tad says but in his postgame presser he has a few back-handed complaints & excuses.
One of the differences was they didn’t get as many free throws as Arizona, implying the refs didn’t call as many on us.
Arizona is allowed to “Bilas” arm bar down low with their bigs and that’s impossible to stop.
Game was officiated differently than in Boulder (even though he also says it was a very physical game).

Shocking that a team that shoots "100" three pointers didn't go to the free throw line much during the game.EastCoastCat wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 7:16 am .......One of the differences was they didn’t get as many free throws as Arizona, implying the refs didn’t call as many on us......

Tad was, if fact, very complimentary of the Cats, attributed Arizona’s defense with the biggest difference in the game, and, while he noted the foul shot differential (what coach would not mention that???), made an explicit point of saying that the foul differential was NOT a determining factor in the outcome - not nearly as significant as his own team’s inability to stop Arizona inside.
… on balance, I thought he gave an fair and balanced account

Everyone watching the game knows why there was free throw discrepancy. He was lucky the Cats didn’t shoot 50 free throws. Not explaining why (the only chance to beat us was to play as physical as possible) and just throwing it out there and then doing the standard “it’s not the reason we lost” is disingenuous.pc in NM wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 12:51 pm Tad was, if fact, very complimentary of the Cats, attributed Arizona’s defense with the biggest difference in the game, and, while he noted the foul shot differential (what coach would not mention that???), made an explicit point of saying that the foul differential was NOT a determining factor in the outcome - not nearly as significant as his own team’s inability to stop Arizona inside.

And the way he described how are bigs post up inside suggested it was illegal.

Like not-Walton said, you could call a foul on every play.EastCoastCat wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 2:22 pmEveryone watching the game knows why there was free throw discrepancy.
