Sucks but not surprising. I just hope he's not one of the ones that goes to UCLA and is a 4 year pain in our @ss ala Darren Collison.

Re: Dorsey
Dorsey decommits from Arizona Wildcats
1 hour ago • By Bruce Pascoe
The odd fit between Tyler Dorsey and the Arizona Wildcats is no longer a factor.
Dorsey announced today he has decommitted from the Wildcats, saying "I rushed my college choice and did not provide myself with the greatest opportunity to explore and thoroughly investigate all my possible college options."
The big problem appeared to be that Dorsey wanted to play point guard and he wasn't going to do that at Arizona. So speculation built in recent weeks that he might decommit and the Wildcats' sudden offer to guard Allonzo Trier last week appeared to be a final message.
It was also interesting that Trier made the cut to 15 at the USA Basketball's U18 trials, while Dorsey did not, and Miller is an assistant coach for that team (though the roster decisions were made by both the team coaches and a committee of coaches).
Dorsey sent out the email to some media though not the Star. However, his father did confirm via text message that Tyler decommitted.
CBS has the version of Dorsey's email statement listed here.
Dorsey's commitment was something of a surprise in January, coming late at night when the Wildcats were in town to play UCLA and USC.
His decommitment leaves just Justin Simon left in the class of 2015 so far, though the Wildcats are pursuing both Trier and Isaiah Briscoe at guard as well as a number of forwards and centers.
UA coach Sean Miller said this week it is likely he will sign four high school players in November, then possibly add one as next season goes on.

I'm wondering what Zonacat's thoughts are. From his posts on TOS I know he was a big Dorsey fan.

Wish him adios. I'll not fault a young man for listening to advisors, but he was sold SG and he bought PG. That's on him.

It was obvious that the Cats knew and were preparing for this with their strong continued recruitment of other top level SG's for 2015.

He was classy about it, best for all parties. Sometimes the fit just isn't right, no reason to force things.
Re: Dorsey
not the right fit. already have anderson off his redshirt and simon coming in. even if we just add ray smith and rabb/comanche we should be fine. anderson, simon, smith, rabb, comanche and trier would be fantastic.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

Re: Dorsey
Trier's twitter is very telling today.
Re: Dorsey
This seemed to be going down for months, so it is best to get this out of the way and move forward. Dorsey's star is certainly not on the rise and there is no need to deal with all drama 1.5 years before the kid even enrolls in school. Good riddance.
Re: Dorsey
I'd be surprised if there was interest from any CA school, and honestly that's probably for the best. The kid needs to get away and start fresh somewhere.Chicat wrote:I'm definitely interested to see where he ends up. UNLV?KOQSTRONG wrote:Sucks but not surprising. If that kid would have said anything negative, we would have just countered with Gordon's mom and her statement . No greater endorsement than that.

If Trier committed, we'd know it. You'd be seeing multiple posters here embedding tweets and providing links.

A lot of bullshit in general being posted on that site since the mass exodus. It's really odd that some guys who never really posted before are "breaking news" and providing detailed scouting reports on Dorsey and Trier.catgrad97 wrote:One of the few posts on TOS states that Trier has committed to Arizona. Looks bogus..no details or links therefore, little credibility. Guy posting has just "joined" tos..looks seriously questionable.

Brian Snow or Evan Daniels, can't remember which one, said they'd be surprised if UCLA recruits Dorsey. Which is odd considering that was Alford's alleged #1 target in that class prior to committing to ArizonaElGatoBlanco wrote:Some UCLA fans swear up and down that they are not going to be recruiting him.KOQSTRONG wrote:Sucks but not surprising. Interesting. 247 was projecting either Cal or Kansas, with no mention of Duckland. UCLA was also ostensibly in the chase. Hmm......no further comment.

Re: Dorsey
I saw Tyler play Stanley Johnson last year at Mater Dei.
Stanley reminded me of watching God play basketball. It was ridiculous and my love affair started then when he had this one block then dunk that made me mushy inside.
Tyler reminded me of a player we had back in the day...Chris Rodgers. A kind of PG kind of SG who yells at teammates and thinks he is a lot better then he really is.
I remember thinking I was not very impressed as he shot a ton and seemed to have a poor attitude.
The guy I also liked though was Michael Cage's son as he looked like a natural in the Post.
Daniel Hamilton also looked like a little wuss compared to Stanley that game
