It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:
Re: College Football Playoff Rankings
Alabama's not losing to Mizzou and not dropping out of the Final Four even if it did. SEC will have a representative, as will the Pac-12.
Ohio State's not winning at Wisky either. Comfortable laying down money on that, and I never bet on football games anymore. Not nearly the No. 6 team anymore and will look it Saturday.

I've been wondering for a few days now if we'd be above or below a 2 loss bama team. Just figured I'd throw it out therecatgrad97 wrote:Alabama's not losing to Mizzou and not dropping out of the Final Four even if it did. SEC will have a representative, as will the Pac-12.

Funny thing is, depending upon the outcome of tomorrow night's game vs. Oregon, we will either care a great deal about all of this ... or not at all. Here's hoping we have some sleepless nights in anticipation of the final four announcement.

Re: College Football Playoff Rankings
So the milquetoast Mike and Mike in the morning were all over Oregon this AM as "the team to beat" and "number one in the land" and "will win the playoff, now that their OL is back and Mariota blah blah blah",
Which begs the question:
When Arizona beats Oregon this Friday, would Mike and Mike give them an automatic spot. Doubtful.
No matter cause thats what will happen.

When will bowls be announced?
If we lose, what are the chances we go to the Cotton Bowl? There is a good chance I might be in Dallas on Jan 1st, and you better believe I'm getting into that game.

On Sunday the conversation switches from how can Arizona get into the playoff to how the hell did Arizona fall to the Las Vegas bowl

I'm not serious! Except that Sunday is when we find out everything
Re: College Football Playoff Rankings
Arizona is not being discussed for a reason. We have no chance, because we play Almighty Oregon tomorrow. I for one would like to welcome our new lords and masters as they trample us en route to their inevitable national championship.

I love it. Let the team continue to ride this no respect train.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

I did some thinking and almost posted how I think the poll would look based on this weekend. But I gave up. I think AZ is 4 with a win and 11 with a loss.

Like Tevis said, it's OK if they're getting no respect, they'll just keep going out and earning it.

Love it, my former 1980's Auburn Linebacker who is a colleague of mine, at one of the clinic sought me out today, and says:
"Oregon's good, but I won't be surprised if you beat them. If you do, you're the 4th team, even with 2 losses. I hate to admit it as I want the SEC to represent well, but objectively, no one else has the wins on their record that you do."
Love it...people are talking.

I don't know who is going to get the #4 spot. I'm just happy there are going to be lots of pissed off people about who got 5th and 6th.
Perfect for those wanting an 8 team playoff.

I don't think 1-4 will change from Tuesday. Seems silly ESPN is taking about it.

lol. Shows what I know. OSU really earned it yesterday.
That's what the Big 12 gets from trying to have two champions.

I guess it's like the old quarterback adage: when you have two conference champions, you actually have none.

Bowlsby got busted saying head to head is a tie breaker in a July interview. Should have went that route the last month.

10!
Love it!
Dropped as expected, penalized for the extra game relative to MSU, Ole Mis, and Mich St.
But I'm cool with it.

I love it for the cats, but not excited about playing Boise St. Would've preferred a high "brand" program, or something more playstation match-up-esque. Like CATS v Ole Miss, Cat v Baylor, etc etc.
Mich St took our spot IMO, for doing squat this past weekend.

Re: College Football Playoff Rankings
I agree on that. I would've loved to get a Ole Miss or somebody like that in the bowl. Of all the top tier bowl matchups, it's not the most attractive games. Every other bowl matchup you kinda go "whooooo"
Ours is kinda Meh. But, it will be a home game, it should be sold out (if it isn't we need to question our loyalty) and it is a very winnable game.

Re: College Football Playoff Rankings
Nobody had a clue how the committee was going to handle this. I thought they were going to value playing in the conference championship game a little more then they did. I thought we would drop to 8-9 but her top ten 10 and going to fiesta bowl is a damn good season! Sure we aren't playing and sec west team but it may do more harm then good at this point if we play like we did against the ducks!

Yeah, the other match-ups are like "damn, I want to schedule to watch that" and ours is like, "lets send the cute team to the kiddie table to play with little brother who was have to accept".
