Up big, 2:30 seconds in the half, and we go 3 and out with 2 incomplete passes. Why? Then, a dumbass penalty gives Colorado life, and instead of being up by 19, it's only 13 at half. Stupid play calling, again. If Colorado can score coming out of half, game on.

Can you imagine this offense with a desert swarm defense? Really looks like all the red zone practice has really paid off. I say that as we kick a fg.

Tunnecliffe was the QB at UA when I was a student. I am now retired collecting Social Security, and next year start Medicare although I was a little older than most students.

Tom's dad was your typical sporto helicopter parent. He went and told certain NFL teams not to draft him, since he wouldn't play for them.

Tom Tuna Fish was the QB when Larry Smith was trying to grow the program after the crappy Tony Mason era.

He was as they say an accumulator as far as stats go. He wasn’t that accurate (maybe a 50% passer) and forced a lot of balls leading to a lot of interceptions.

But he did have a couple of signature wins against Norte Dame and UCLA.

I’ll never forget the 1982 game vs ASucks - 28-18 and denied them a Rose Bowl!!! Tunnicliffe threw a short pass that went for 92 yards (and threw for another long TD).

Great nite at the stadium; it was a “hard ticket” that was well worth it, and a great celebration afterwards at The Shanty!!!

Jealous. My freshman year - had season tickets but went to LA for family Thanksgiving.

Wasn't on TV (the struggle was real) but LA radio carried the game because if we won UCLA went to the Rose Bowl. What a glorious victory that started the streak! (9 years 8-0-1)

Back when channel 13 showed all the games late night. Go to the game, hit the clubs (Wildcat House, Bum Steer), then go home and watch the game again.

Ha. I did the same and listened to the game on radio. ASSU was known for its vaunted blitz but Smith game planned perfectly with quick slants. The big one was I think to Brian Brennan and didn’t Vance Johnson- our 160lb running back - break off a big one too?

Loved knocking them out of the Rose Bowl as they all came down assuming they were going to wax us.

One of the long TD passes (short pass, long run) was Brian Holland, a RB. Later on his family (he was from Philly) opened a cheesesteak place on Park across from Manzanita-Mohave - it was really good!

The other long pass was to Brad Anderson.
