Well the defense still looked good again. Ballo needs better recognition on what teams are doing to him. Zu is the best player in the league even though limited athletically. Hopefully Ramey's last shot gets him going. Pelle playing MUCH better. Boswell is going to be something. Hell he could be playing high school. Best on ball defender we have.

But they had 15 total TO’s and they practically lead the nation in that stat.

That’s fine when you are scoring in the 80’s but if you are in the 60’s not so good.

The “cavalier” one’s really bug me with so many experienced players.

What was that tech toward the end of the game?Kerr hit a 3, the coug defender fell down and whined to the ref, they counted the points and the next thing you know, WSU is shooting tech FT's

I was watching the extended highlights this morning, could not figure out what was going on there.
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Kerr got a flagrant 1 for hitting the WSU player in the head. Terrible call!

Let's face it. Kriisa is a marked man this season with Pac-12 refs.

The conversation at the scorer's table last night:

Official 1: "Yeah, there is some slight contact to head but nothing really major."
Official 2: "But it's that snot-nosed, finger-pointing, tongue-wagging Kriisa we are talking about."
Official 1: "You are right. OK everyone that's a Flagrant 1!"

Wazzu went to the line 13 more times than Arizona. Not sure that happens very often and is indicative of how shitty the officiating was last night.

The WSU player should have been called for the flop.

But in any event, Kerr's 3 counted after the foul, although WSU made both FTs and had possession, but didn't score on it.

It's almost like there is some weird, transcendental, Arizona-will-not-seal-games shit going on with this team.

I can recall a few instances last night...

Ramey hits a dagger 3, but WSU gets a 3 back in less then 10 seconds.
Kriisa hits his 3, but then is called for a Flagrant 1 (2 FT's)
Zu misses an open bunny dunk at the end with nobody on him, WSU hits a meaningless 3 afterwards.

I wish they would get rid of these flagrant foul calls on accidental contact. And when I looked at this one, there was barely any contact.

I understand the elbow to the face that can cause significant damage. But Kerr's "flagrant" was barely a hand slap that is highly unlikely to cause any injury. And is part of normal basketball play. It's not worth a flagrant 1.

I also think there should be a difference between intentional arm swinging, punches, and elbows and accidental contact that just occurs during the normal course of the game. Kerr certainly didn't do anything intentional.

Fortunately, the call didn't change the outcome of the game. WSU just must be a bad match-up for us. They did a great job of slowing down the game, and controlling their defensive board. Thankfully, WSU shot very poorly, and we have to credit our D for that. Very few open looks, and when they got them, the shooters were hearing footsteps and rushed many of the shots. Glad we can win an ugly, defensive battle. Just wish we could better control the tempo in these games.

Frankly, I'm just glad the contact that did occur was not called in real time. That would have wiped out the open three!!

Kerr did throw his arm off, and that could have been a legitimate foul call. Jesus, if the tables were turned, many here would have been screaming "bloody murder"!!!

IMNSHO, it was refs' judgment as to the flagrant decision, and we can disagree all we want... to no effect!! But, as such, the three counted, and that was a difference maker!!

They didn’t call the elbow to the nose on Pelle In the first half. Didn’t even review it

I am concerned about the on going issue with Krissa getting techs in the second half of multiple games. They are watching him.
