Re: (M) Game #12 Arizona at California (2023-2024)
I’ll be in the house, for this farewell to haas game.
With my two oldest daughters, and my middle daughter’s friend whose dad is an alum as well! We’re rolling 5 strong to Berkeley tomorrow from Sac.
It’s great to have a cats dad friend from the kids school. We text a ton during our games, our wives know to leave us alone. It’s like step brothers the movie! He flies house flags too!!
Seriously, it’s so cool to have a solid cats fan just down the street.

Re: (M) Game #12 Arizona at California (2023-2024)
Not to be a negative Nancy, but I think its very unlikely that the UA runs the table in the PAC12's last season.
Points always become harder to come by once conference starts because everyone knows your tendencies.
Lets not forget that we lost by 15 at Utah last year, by 19 at Oregon, by 13 at WSU, by 9 at UCLA, and by 9 at Stanford. We are very beatable.
The challenge for the UA, in a conference that is not particulary good this year, is to ignore who the opponent is and just try to improve every game. If we don't and end up playing down to the level of the opposition, we'll end up with less than a 1 seed 11 weeks from now.

Interesting, Mark Madsen is the Cal coach. I hated him when he played at Stanford

Re: (M) Game #12 Arizona at California (2023-2024)
I think there's also a much larger "We are every team's Super Bowl" effect this year than in recent previous seasons. The Pac is probably getting 3 teams into the tourney, maybe 4. That leaves a lot of teams just playing for pride, and their game vs. Arizona is their only remaining one versus a highly ranked team. We're going to get everyone's best shot. Happens every year.dmjcat wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 8:27 pm Not to be a negative Nancy, but I think its very unlikely that the UA runs the table in the PAc12's last season.

It's crazy how quickly we can get up double digits while still making mistakes.

It would be good for our depth to get Filip, Veesaar and Krivas some extended minutes

Let's see Bradley and the rest of the bench keep up the intensity on D
Re: (M) Game #12 Arizona at California (2023-2024)
So Don didn't think we could win at Duke. Shocking.

Maybe Vegas knew we would wear out our bench this game, hence the spread.

How long was the Zags' home court streak before losing to SDSU?

That’s why we (and good teams in general) should have a guard that can draw fouls and a good way to draw fouls is to be comfortable hitting 10 footers, teardrops and going at your defenders chest.dmjcat wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 8:27 pm Not to be a negative Nancy, but I think its very unlikely that the UA runs the table in the PAC12's last season.

I will see you there, or I will see you on another time
Re: (M) Game #12 Arizona at California (2023-2024)
We did not play down to the level of competition, thus far, in the 1st half.
We did have some sloppy ball handling/passing that we still need to work on. A couple of sloppy cross court passes were the difference between winning and losing against FAU in Vegas last week.
It will be good to get the bench some game time in the 2nd half.

That was about the best half of basketball I’ve seen us play since we kept Wazzu from scoring double digits in the first half a bunch of years ago.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Re: (M) Game #12 Arizona at California (2023-2024)
I'm not sure if its a case of us playing well, or we are just playing a lousy team. (Maybe both)
California has a NET ranking of #221
